Chapter 47: Brutal

There was non-stop screaming, and gunshot sounds coming from the building.

The black shadow was just like the devil from hell. It appeared out of the corner of your eyes and dragged the police officers into the abyss of darkness.

During his rampage, the middle-aged man’s pupil started to constrict, and a hint of yellow appeared across his eyes. He was furious and his hunger to kill was palpable.

“Yes, just like this...”

“All you people...”

“All of you deserve to die...”

His nails started to grow extremely long, and his joints began to jut out. His palm was now as big as a dragon’s claw.

His canine teeth started to stick out from the side of his mouth, and all his muscles were just growing bigger and stronger. It was as if he had transformed into a monster.

Maybe he was a monster all along.

It managed to awaken its superpower approximately two months ago.

The first thing it did after awakening was to kill its owner.

Since then, it had been wandering around Jiangmen city like a ghost. Its only purpose was to kill those who mistreated and tortured their cats.

It obliterated those who tried to stop it.

It serendipitously discovered another supercat which had the power of regeneration. It disguised itself as the humans who the supercat was close to and borrowed the supercat’s power of extraordinary regeneration.

After obtaining this superpower, it realized that it had the potential to be a lot stronger, stronger than anyone in this world.

During its fight with the police officers, it was nervous yet excited. It was nervous because of its fear of the destructive power of their assault rifles. However, it was excited to destroy these weapons that humans were so confident in.

Within a short span of a few minutes, it managed to destroy the first wave of police officers. To it, the entire process was a child’s play.

The weapons in the police officers’ hands could injure it, but their reaction was too slow. Their movement was too slow. They were too weak.

Once it started moving at his top speed, none of the police officers could track it or land a shot at it.

The human body was too fragile against its mighty claws. One light pinch by it could turn their bodies into minced meat.

Its lips curled into a smile upon sighting the next wave of police officers. It was so excited to continue its next round of rampage.

Its movement was as quick as lightning as it darted around the entire building in the blink of an eye.

The sharp claws coupled with its monstrous arms allowed it to smash through walls and kill the police officers behind it quickly.

Its muscular legs possessed explosive strength unparalleled in this world. It was able to dodge the rain of bullets as if it was teleporting and none of its enemies could take an aimed shot at it.

The tinge of green across his eyes allowed it to see in the dark. It would hide in the corners and the shadows of the rooms and pounced on its enemies from their blind spots. It would return to the darkness after its attack, leaving the police officers frantically spraying around to no avail.

It could feel the bullets penetrate its skin, but its muscles would stop them.

With the aid of infra-red, the police officers managed to land a few shots on it using armor-piercing bullets. However, its extraordinary regeneration abilities allowed it to recover its strength soon after.

The screams of devastation and the sounds of rapid gunfire were music to its ears as it was enjoying the massacre in front of it.

Inspector Ho and Lin Chen were taken aback by the killer cat’s strength. Its speed, power, and explosiveness had reached a level that we humans could not achieve. The trained police officers were unable to offer any types of resistance against it.

Lin Chen shouted, “We must leave. This is a suicide mission.”

Inspector Ho was in agony as his face turned into a frown and a vein popped across his forehead.

“Let them retreat!” Lin Chen screamed, “We need the army to deal with this monster!”

Before Inspector Ho could give his next command, there was a drastic turn of events.

“It is gone!”

“Be careful; it might be hiding.”

“Check on every corner!”

“It is really gone!”

The killer cat decided to leave before Inspector Ho could give his instructions for his police officers to retreat.

“Where did it go?”

“It escaped northwards!”

Inspector Ho commanded, “Do not let it escape!”

“I’ll go,” Lin Chen said as he dashed out of the commanding vehicle.

Under the starry sky, the killer cat was leaping from the top of one building to another.

It was bleeding from a small wound on its belly. Its muscles were slowly ejecting the bullet out from its body.

It realized that it had lost its regenerative prowess from the previous skirmish.

There was only one explanation for it.

“No doubt,” Killer cat said while its face turned gloomier than ever, “Those who deserve to die must be killed.”

...

Zhao Yao was in his Panamera, driving along the streets under the night sky.

He just went to a haunted school which he discovered on the internet.

He managed to sneak into the haunted school using his power to manipulate time. However, there were no traces of supercat, let alone signs of a killer cat.

It was about time for him to end his patrol and he returned to his car.

Elizabeth was standing on the co-driver seat, with half her body outside the window. She was staring at the traffic light with a worried look.

Zhao Yao immediately comforted Elizabeth and said, “Do not worry. We will catch it as long as it is hiding out here.”

Once they returned to their housing estate, Zhao Yao was playing with his phone while he locked his car.

He saw a WeChat notification from Xiao Shi Yu.

She sent two pictures of a kitten with orange spots.

The cat in the first picture was drenched in blood, with its body contorted in unimaginable ways. It was as if the cat was knocked over by a car.

The second picture was the same cat, but it was slightly bigger than before. There were no visible injuries on it. Its fur was white and smooth. It looked just like any other domestic cats.

Xiao Shi Yu said, “This is the cat that I mentioned the other time. I sent it to an animal hospital after it got knocked over by a car. Even the vet said that there was no chance of recovery. However, it managed to recover after I took care of it for awhile.”

Zhao Yao stopped in his tracks when he saw the photos. He thought, “This is supernatural no matter how I see it.”

Elizabeth, who was resting on Zhao Yao’s shoulder, commented, “Even with a cat’s vitality, it is impossible for it to recover after sustaining such injuries.”

“Superpower?” Zhao Yao gave it serious consideration before backtracking to his Panamera.

“If it’s a supercat, it’s better for me to take a look.”
