Chapter 49 - Lime Colored Liquid
Ban stood in front of a huge bowl with a lime-colored liquid on it.
"It seems you are not that familiar with this kind of thing." The receptionist said after seeing him just standing in front of the bowl.
Ban did not react to what she said and only stared at her intently.
The receptionist averted her line of sight as she continued, "First, drop your blood on the bowl, and if the color changed from lime to black, then that mostly means that you have dabbled on horrible things. If that happens and if it was proven that you are doing such acts, you will immediately be apprehended on the spot."
Ban nodded his head and proceeded to cut a tiny wound on his fingers with the use of the knife provided just beside the bowl.
Of course, Ban did not let his guard down and ask the System about the description of the Knife, the bowl, and its content. However, the System replies that he doesn't have a [Skil] that could help him identify things.
However, it assured Ban that it was safe, aside from the fact that he would be cut, due to him extracting his own blood.
After a slight pain, a droplet of blood formed on his fingers as Ban flicked it towards the bowl.
The moment his blood came in contact with the lime-colored liquid, it immediately dispersed and disappeared as if it was never there. The lime-colored liquid then glowed with a bright light before it returned to its normal lime color.
Seeing that, the receptionist heaves a sigh of relief as she said with a smile, "Congratulations, Esteemed guest, it seems that you are clean!"
Ban nodded his head but his gaze never left the lime-color liquid. He got the feeling that he might come into contact with it again.
"Next, as we haven't witnessed your awakening, we don't know what kind of Monster you have at your disposal. Based on your get-up, I assume that you don't want your real identity to be known. However, It is required for everyone to at least let the Adventurers Guild know some information regarding their Monster, is that alright for you?"
Ban nodded his head. He also did it earlier when he filled up the form. However, he only put Demon Ant on his Monster and nothing else.
This time, the receptionist decided to write the information herself.
"So, what's your Monster? If possible, can I see it?" She requested with a pen and Adventurers Form in her hand.
Ban nodded his head.
"Come out!"
He commanded and after a sudden white light, Eva suddenly appeared out of nowhere with her combat form.
"She's a Queen Combat Ant, and she's currently at X- Mortal Rank. I don't need to tell her [Skills], no?" Ban stated as he stared at the receptionist with his pitch-black eyes.
After donning his disguise before, Ban made sure to let Eva transform to her combat form before storing her inside his Beast Tattoo.
The receptionist nodded and wrote the information she just acquired. The white light did not escape her eyes and she immediately associated it with a Monster Tattoo.
Instantly, her whole view about him suddenly changed. Previously, she only acted respectfully due to it being her job. She felt that she was stronger than him and the only thing that left an impression on her was the Ant Mask, as well as the completely unreal voice.
However, after seeing the Monster Tattoo, her attitude already took a drastic turn as she viewed Ban with more respect and awe.
Even more so after Ban said another piece of shocking information, "Do I need to let all my Monsters out?"
Her eyes went wide in shock the moment she heard it.
"N-no no need!" She replied nervously as she wrote that on the Adventurers form with a trembling hand.
<Monster: Queen Combat Ant(Suspected Lord Grade, suspected already evolved once) (X-Mortal Rank)
-Monster Tattoo confirmed!
-Person suspected to be at Multi Realm, with at least D- Master Strength.>
The reason she arrived at that conclusion was due to Ban's words, 'All my monsters out?' meaning he still has at least one Monster Summon inside his Monster Tattoo at the moment.
At the Multi Realm, a Summoner would be able to Summon multiple Monsters. Every Rank increase allows them to awaken their next Summon. The D-Master Rank was the start of the Multi Realm and it was at this Rank that a Summoner would be able to summon their second Monster.
She concluded that the masked person must at least be at D- Master Rank which made her even more nervous.
This has become a big matter already and she thought that she can't assist the masked person right now.
After all, an E- Elite Rank receptionist assisting a Multi Realm Summoner seems to be a bit disrespectful.
Realizing that, she immediately stood up and bowed deeply towards Ban. "I deeply apologize for not recognizing your strength sooner, Esteemed guest. Please wait for a moment as I'll get a more befitting person to assist you!"
She was about to turn around and get the head receptionist when she was stopped by Ban.
"No need, I'm here to register as an Adventurer for this city, not get assisted by receptionists. As long as you know what you are doing, that's fine." He stated as coldly as possible. And it was achieved splendidly due to the Ant Mask effect.
The receptionist could only nod her head as she sat back again to do her thing. Facing a 'Master' Rank summoner really made her sweat.
After a while of questioning, she finally arrived at the last part, "How may I address you, Esteemed guest?"
"You can call me, Leon!"
The receptionist nodded her head as she noted it down. She then stood up and bowed to Ban again.
"Please wait for a minute as I process and get your Adventurers Badge, Sir Leon. As you are already at the Multi Realm, you don't need to pay for the Badge but we at the Adventurers Guild requests that you participate on the upcoming defense against the Beast Tide when the time comes."
Ban smiled as his ploy was already considered to be a success. He purposely said the part, about his other monster to make her believe that he's already at the Multi Realm.
It's not because of the free fee but it was because he wanted to make the persona, Leon to be viewed as someone strong. And in order to do that, he needs to make the Adventurers Guild believe that he was really one.
"I'll see to it when the time comes," Ban responded.
She nodded and bowed her head again before she turned around with the Adventurers Form.
Ban waited calmly but deep inside him, he was already jumping joy for avoiding the fee once more.
After a while, the receptionist returned with a badge on her hand. However, it was not a Wooden Badge, but instead a golden-colored one.
