Chapter 222 - The Rare Genius Ban
At first, Rila was dumbfounded due to the Beast that was beside Ban, the person whom she was tasked to protect. Anything that happens to Ban will become her responsibility, and with her deep respect to the Family Head, god knows how she will be able to face him if something happened to Ban.
Hence, she immediately made a decision to attack the Beast before it could harm Ban.
However, she was forced to stop a while later as she saw something that she was not able to comprehend for a few seconds.
He was actually aware of that Beast's presence and in fact, was even able to order it around? How could she not tremble in shock knowing that?
Yes, there were cases where Beasts are captured and sold to rich people for their entertainment, to try to tame them and sorts, but no matter what, the Beasts that were captured would still act aggressively no matter how they were tortured or treated nicely beforehand.
It was already engraved on their nature to attack humans, and even other beasts to strengthen themselves.
The mere thought of a Beast not attacking a human on sight was already strange enough, and yet this one can actually be ordered?
Unless…
Unless, it was not a Beast, but a Monster?
Rila sucked a deep breath after arriving at this thought.
She knew that Ban already has that little Demon Ant as his Summoned Monster. So owning another one means he was already at the D-Master Rank.
However, this should not be true as she knew that Ban had just awakened less than a week ago. Even how monstrous of a talent he was, it was still impossible to reach D-Master Rank and Summon another Monster directly. After all, she herself was also considered a talent and yet after reaching D-Master for almost a half a year ago, she was still unable to Summon another Monster.
Although she was unable to summon another Monster, she was still a genuine D-Master Rank, although she lacked a second summon for now.
In a sense, she was still a Quasi D-Master Rank as she doesn't have another summon yet, but she knew for a fact that she was already one.
After surpassing the E-Elite Rank and entering the Quasi D-Master Rank, a summoner needs to nourish their Energy Core yet again, forge it to become a sort of place that can allow Monsters to live freely, or in other words, forge it to become a Monster or Beast Tattoo, minus the tattoo itself.
After the Energy Core was fully forged, the Quasi D-Master Rank would then be able to become a genuine D-Master Rank that lacked a Monster.
For this, they need to reinforce their forged Energy Core again and only when it can already house a Monster would they start the process of trying to awaken another one.
This forge Energy Core was where the D-Master Rank stored their Monsters, while out of battle. A Monster Tattoo or a Beast Tattoo in short minus its restoring effects and other boons.
Rila was still in the process of reinforcing her forged Core Energy and based on estimation, she was still a week, or even a month away to complete it.
She knew how arduous of a task it was so she immediately crossed out the possibility of Ban reaching the D-Master Rank in less than a week after he awakened.
If reaching D-Master Rank was that easy for him, then why bother cultivating bitterly? If you could achieve what I haven't for my years of existence, what's the point of cultivating anymore?
That was why Rila was very sure that he wasn't a D-Master Rank yet.
And if he was not on a D-Master Rank yet, then she could only think of another possibility.
Or he was a rare genius in legend that awakened two Monsters while still at the singular realm.
'This…'
'Does the Family Head also aware of this? No… if he was aware, then he would surely not let this kid run around by himself and would keep him by his side at all times to protect and train him…'
Rila's core was shaken by this discovery.
Some beings were really destined to overpower the other, huh!
A rare genius like him who was able to awaken two Monsters was only recorded in some books. Even the Family Head himself also said before that such people are destined to roam the world unbothered and if such a person exists, they can only either befriend them, or to eliminate them as early as possible.
If Rila found out that Ban can't just only have two, but four more 'summon' at his current rank, how would she react?
As she was thinking to herself, contemplating if she should send a message over the Family Head to report the situation, her eyes were suddenly pierced by bright light making her instinctively close it.
When she opened it again, the Beast or rather, the Monster from before had already transformed into a humongous one.
She was yet again surprised by this as such a Skill was definitely useful.
She then saw Ban get on the back of the Monster before it rose to the air a while later.
And before Rila could react, the Monster had already flapped its wings rapidly as their figure slowly faded out of her view.
'Such speed…'
After being surprised by it, Rila realized that they had already gone very far. She no longer sat idle as she followed behind them as fast as she could while hopping into branches after branches expertly.
However, she frowned a moment later as she realized that she was left in the dust by the other party. Nevertheless, she gritted her teeth as she persevered to follow their trail.
No matter what, after discovering how rare of a talent he was, it was no longer about guarding him from the Dark Guild's schemes. It was already about him returning home intact, and then her reporting it to Kuys.
Unfortunately, such a far distance from the city had already basically rendered their communication technique useless.
