Almighty Devouring System

Chapter 25

C25 – Cultivate Demon Suppressing Ring!

Peng Gengkun and Lin Huaqiao shared drinks and laughter. Peng Gengkun learned that Lin Huaqiao, once a disciple from a humble background, had been oppressed by Yan Xinheng. But after rising to the status of an elite disciple, Lin Huaqiao was finally free from Yan Xinheng’s tyranny.

Seeing Yan Xinheng defeated by Peng Gengkun filled Lin Huaqiao with a sense of triumph, prompting him to seek friendship with Peng Gengkun.

Peng Gengkun gave a brief account of his background, omitting any mention of the Leviathan-roc System and his transmigration. He simply shared that his abilities had surged forward after enduring Wei Pengxing’s bullying.

Their mutual understanding deepened through the night until they finally returned to their own quarters.

Back in his room, Peng Gengkun wasted no time and began his cultivation practice. This time, however, he wasn’t absorbing Spiritual Energy but was focused on mastering Martial Arts. The Great Vajra Palm was no longer his focus; he had shifted to practicing the newly acquired Demon Suppressing Ring.

The Demon Suppressing Ring, a martial art from the Wei family, had been taught to Yan Xinheng by Wei Mingzhi. When Yan Xinheng wielded it in the Death Match Arena, it nearly cost Peng Gengkun his life.

“Yan Xinheng managed to reach such a level with the Demon Suppressing Ring shortly after acquiring it. If Wei Mingzhi had used it in the Cultivation Room, I wouldn’t have stood a chance,” Peng Gengkun mused, cultivating in line with the techniques described for the Demon Suppressing Ring.

Mastering the Demon Suppressing Ring required exceptional control over Astral Energy, a feat impossible for those below the high ranks of Qi Refining. Peng Gengkun needed to solidify the Astral Energy into a rope-like form to effectively ensnare his foes.

“So that’s the underlying principle of the Demon Suppressing Ring! It’s no wonder my desperate struggles were futile. Only through the Vajra Subduing Devil technique was I able to shatter the Ring. Now that I’ve grasped the method of cultivating the Demon Suppressing Ring, Wei Mingzhi won’t be able to catch me off guard with it again!”

Peng Gengkun leafed through the pages and committed the cultivation technique of the Demon Suppressing Ring to memory. With that knowledge in hand, he began his cultivation practice.

Cultivating the Demon Suppressing Ring proved to be a challenge. Despite several attempts, Peng Gengkun struggled to solidify the Astral Energy into a rope, much less wield it to ensnare an adversary.

Yet, Peng Gengkun remained undeterred. Equipped with the Leviathan-roc System, he could forcibly master the Demon Suppressing Ring by consuming copious Spirit Stones. However, he would have to wait seven days before he could access the system.

In his room, Peng Gengkun tirelessly worked on channeling the Astral Energy. Hours passed, and he finally began to see progress.

“The Demon Suppressing Ring is truly a tough skill to master. But now, I think I can manage a tentative execution,” he mused.

With focused intent, he circulated the Astral Energy, forming a rope ring and casting it towards a vase in the room. The unseen ring ensnared the vase, which shuddered before Peng Gengkun reeled it in from a distance.

The vase hit the floor as the Demon Suppressing Ring disintegrated.

“I’ve succeeded! However, my Demon Suppressing Ring lacks durability. It can catch an opponent but can’t hold up for long. In a real battle, this ring would only serve to momentarily hinder my opponent, not secure them. Clearly, I need to refine my technique further,” Peng Gengkun reflected, setting his mind to more rigorous training of the Demon Suppressing Ring.

Before he knew it, six days had flown by.

During this time, Peng Gengkun’s reputation had swiftly spread throughout the Outer Sect of the Flying Cloud Sect. His victory over Wei Pengxing had turned heads, but it was his triumph over Yan Xinheng that truly cemented his fame.

Yan Xinheng was not just an elite disciple—he was among the crème de la crème of the Outer Sect!

Defeating someone of Yan Xinheng’s caliber was an achievement that resonated throughout the entire Outer Sect of the Flying Cloud Sect, ensuring that Peng Gengkun’s name was on everyone’s lips.

Despite the commotion, Peng Gengkun remained unfazed, his attention solely on perfecting his use of the Demon Suppressing Ring.

In his room, with a forceful shout, Peng Gengkun flung the Demon Suppressing Ring, ensnaring the wardrobe. With a strong tug, he yanked it to the ground. A wave of his hand caused the ring to slowly fade away.

“At last, I’ve got a handle on the Demon Suppressing Ring! It may not hold the more powerful adversaries, but I can certainly manage those at my level,” Peng Gengkun mused.

His contemplation was interrupted by approaching footsteps, followed by the creak of the door as someone entered.

Lin Huaqiao was taken aback by the disarray. “Junior Brother Peng, what happened here? Your room’s a disaster!”

With a grin, Peng Gengkun replied, “Oh, I was just practicing a few Astral Energy techniques.”

Clearing his throat to steer the conversation elsewhere, he inquired, “Senior Brother Lin, what brings you here?”

Lin Huaqiao’s face lit up with a smile. “One of our junior brothers has been promoted to elite disciple. We’re planning to take him out for a celebratory drink!”

Realization dawned on Peng Gengkun. “I see. Well, I’d be delighted to join!”

While most prioritized cultivation over socializing, Peng Gengkun was an exception. Blessed with the Leviathan-roc System, he didn’t need to dedicate as much time to training. He also recognized the value of networking.

He might only be mingling with a few elite disciples from the Outer Sect for now, but who knows? Among them could be a prodigy, and in time, they could offer each other mutual support.

Thrilled, Lin Huaqiao exclaimed, “They’ve reserved tables at the renowned Cloud Crane Tower. Let’s go meet them—they’re quite eager to see you!”

With an understanding smile, Peng Gengkun left the room with Lin Huaqiao.

Surrounding the Flying Cloud Sect were various establishments, including the Chamber of Commerce, restaurants, and inns. Among them, the Cloud Crane Tower stood out as a premier dining spot.

Peng Gengkun had heard of the Cloud Crane Tower but had yet to experience its offerings. Now, he seized the opportunity to savor the delights of the famed establishment.
