Chapter 9
C9 – Flame Mountain Tribe
“My name is Pann Qiu. Thank you for saving me!” the burly woman exclaimed.
Jiang Que replied, “You’re welcome.”
“How did you manage to kill the One-horn Pig?”
Pann Qiu glanced at the One-horn Pig on the ground, then at Jiang Que’s somewhat slender frame. Despite having seen him slay the One-horn Pig, she found it hard to believe.
”I have strong arms. The Thorn Fruit I throw can unleash tremendous force,” Jiang Que explained nonchalantly.
Pann Qiu gasped in astonishment. In her tribe, few possessed arm strength to rival hers, yet her own throws of Thorn Fruit could barely injure a wild chicken. Meanwhile, this young man had felled a One-horn Pig with a single throw. She couldn’t fathom the extent of his strength.
“Where do you plan to take this One-horn Pig? The Flame Mountain Tribe isn’t far from here. I can go back and get some people to help you move it.”
Pann Qiu’s attention quickly shifted back to the One-horn Pig. A tinge of regret crossed her eyes as she thought, “If only I had been the one to kill it.” That would have given her a significant advantage in the race for the Patriarch position and would have substantially increased the tribe’s food reserves. Unfortunately, the slayer of a ferocious beast had exclusive rights to its remains.
Since Jiang Que had killed the One-horn Pig, he alone had the right to dispose of it.
“I’m from the Green Tribe. I ended up here by accident. As for the One-horn Pig, I’ll gift it to you,” Jiang Que offered generously.
“You’re not just my lifesaver; you’re a great benefactor to the Flame Mountain Tribe. I’ll go and call my clansmen right away,” Pann Qiu said, elated.
“There’s no need to call your clansmen,” Jiang Que interjected.
He surveyed the area and borrowed her short knife. With swift strokes, he felled three small trees and stripped them of their branches and leaves. In no time, he had three tree trunks, each five meters long and as thick as a bowl. Jiang Que slid the trunks under the One-horn Pig and grabbed one of its hind hooves.
His Spirit Power surged, converging in his arms and legs.
Jiang Que had reached Energy Condensation Stage Level 6. When he channeled his Spirit Power into his limbs, his strength could increase exponentially.
Yet, dragging the ten-ton One-horn Pig proved somewhat challenging for him.
He ingeniously placed three tree trunks under the massive creature’s body, significantly reducing the friction as he pulled it along.
The towering One-horn Pig, still two meters high, was hauled forward by Jiang Que alone.
Turning to Pann Qiu, whose eyes were wide with astonishment, Jiang Que instructed, “If the tree trunk slips out, pick it up and place it in front of the One-horn Pig. And while we’re at it, could you point me toward the Flame Mountain Tribe?”
Pann Qiu marveled internally at his incredible strength.
Her eyes shone with an unusual brilliance, and her heart rate quickened.
In that moment, she was so captivated that she didn’t even register Jiang Que’s words.
“The scanner data shows an increase in dopamine and a faster heartbeat in Pann Qiu. Clearly, she’s smitten,” someone observed.
“He’s incredibly impressive. It’s true that in any era and environment, men of great strength possess an irresistible allure. Despite his slender appearance, in a world that values brawny, bronzed, and rugged men, he still manages to captivate a peerless beauty.”
“His charm is undeniable. He’s not just a peerless genius with his own unique cultivation method, but he’s also shown remarkable ingenuity in transporting the One-horn Pig. Jiang Que has won me over. Suddenly, my own boyfriend seems utterly inadequate.”
“Jiang Que is not only attractive but also exceptionally intelligent! Even on the Exile Planet, he’s bound to achieve great things!”
“I’m even beginning to suspect that his decision to gift the One-horn Pig to Pann Qiu and his effort to transport it using logs are part of a larger plan.”
“Let’s not forget he can be quite cunning. Plus, his grandfather is the ambitious Nine Stars Great General, Jiang Wudi!”
“With his talent, intelligence, strategy, and ambition, he’s destined to become a prominent figure!”
“Regrettably, on the Exile Planet, where ferocious beasts reign supreme, the Human Race struggles to survive. No matter how ambitious he is, at best he could become the Patriarch of a tribe, perhaps conquering one or two neighboring tribes.”
”What a pity,” echoed through the livestream as the audience engaged in lively discussions.
In the small grove, Pann Qiu snapped to attention after Jiang Que repeated his words. She hurriedly moved forward, hoisting a dislodged tree trunk and placing it in front of the One-horn Pig. With Pann Qiu’s assistance, Jiang Que dragged the creature at a decent pace. They conversed while making their way.
Jiang Que quickly learned about the Flame Mountain Tribe. It was a mid-sized community with over a thousand members. Yet, on the Exile Planet, the Human Race aged rapidly. Shito, the current Patriarch of the tribe, was only thirty-six but his strength and agility had significantly declined. Shito was a clever man; he preferred to step down willingly rather than be ousted. He declared that within three months, the person who hunted the most prey would succeed him as Patriarch.
Two of the tribe’s mightiest warriors immediately engaged in a heated contest for the title. Roger and Pann Qiu were the contenders, and Pann Qiu had attempted to ambush the Level 5 One-horn Pig because she was falling behind. She had to take a gamble, hoping the One-horn Pig would give her the edge over Roger. Unfortunately, her plan failed, and Jiang Que came to her rescue.
For Jiang Que, this was an incredibly fortunate turn of events. It meant that upon joining the Flame Mountain Tribe, he wouldn’t have to scheme for the Patriarch’s role. With his formidable abilities, he just needed to hunt enough game to earn the title.
”While Flame Mountain is teeming with powerful ferocious beasts, it’s tough to stay safe, even with your remarkable strength. Would you consider joining our Flame Mountain Tribe?” Pann Qiu asked mid-conversation, her face alight with hope.
Throughout their journey, she had learned of Jiang Que’s disdain for solitude. Pann Qiu sensed an opportunity to persuade him to join the tribe and, seizing the moment, she broached the subject without hesitation.
If Pann Qiu could persuade the deceptively frail-looking yet immensely powerful Jiang Que to join the Flame Mountain Tribe, it would undoubtedly bolster the tribe’s strength.
This would significantly alleviate the survival pressures faced by the clansmen.
Unbeknownst to Pann Qiu, Jiang Que had intentionally let slip this information.
His rescue of her and the gift of the One-horn Pig were all strategic moves to secure his place within the Flame Mountain Tribe.
“Alright,” Jiang Que feigned contemplation before finally nodding in agreement.
Despite his eagerness to become part of the Flame Mountain Tribe, Jiang Que never broached the subject himself. Instead, he subtly steered Pann Qiu into making the suggestion.
He knew that appearing too desperate could jeopardize his plans.
Before he could ascend to the role of Patriarch, Jiang Que was careful not to let Pann Qiu detect his true ambitions to avoid any complications.
“That’s wonderful!” Pann Qiu was thrilled, her heart racing with excitement.
She was convinced that Jiang Que’s addition to the tribe would be of immense benefit.
Moreover, if Jiang Que remained with the Flame Mountain Tribe, it would give Pann Qiu the opportunity to gradually win his affection.
This had been a source of puzzlement for Pann Qiu during their journey.
She had noticed that Jiang Que hadn’t spared her a single glance from start to finish.
Her pride was deeply wounded by his indifference.
Pann Qiu, with her dark complexion, statuesque build, stunning features, formidable strength, and striking eyes, was considered a goddess among the Flame Mountain Tribe—a woman all men admired and yearned for.
Yet Jiang Que seemed utterly disinterested in her.
And she could sense that his lack of interest was genuine.
His ability to remain composed in the presence of a peerless beauty was a testament to Jiang Que’s extraordinary fortitude.
This only increased Pann Qiu’s admiration for him. He might appear unremarkable, but his strength and mental resilience were truly remarkable.
Pann Qiu resolved, “If my imposing stature doesn’t captivate him, then I’ll make the most of every chance to be by his side, and in time, he’ll surely grow to love me.”
The thought of one day marrying Jiang Que and bearing children who would inherit her looks and build, as well as Jiang Que’s strength and character, made her heart flutter with anticipation.
She felt as if the entire world was hers.
