Chapter 77 - Crazy Woman
It had been a pretty long week for Alexander, and the past few days had been especially insane. But he was a great general, and had experienced the whimsies of fate many times before, so he had taken everything in stride without losing a beat.
But this latest development that allowed him to smoothly transition into a Scion Lord really blew his mind away. It was too easy. He didn't have to plan for it, he didn't have to fight for it, heck he didn't even know that Scion Lords existed until very recently.
And now, he was one.
"Save that self-introspection nonsense for later!" Flamewing cried. "Attack those sorry bastards and show them the error of their arrogant ways! They think they can simply swagger into this planet and do anything they want? THINK AGAIN FOOLS! ATTACKK!!"
Flamewing was really stirred up. She must have transferred the anger she felt towards her captors to these people who were trying to capture Princess Anastasia. And who's to say that they do not belong to the same faction? Knowing Prince Flario and his despicable methods, he might already have something going on with their enemy, the Scions of Zegaro and Perses.
But her emotional outburst stirred Alexander up too! That, in addition to the fact that Alexander was an inherently curious person. He really itched to test his new found Scion Lord Powers.
He flicked out a quick jab upwards using his Crystal Sword, releasing the golden space energy within and allowing it to shoot upwards towards the origin of the blinding beams of energy.
"Boom." Alexander whispered.
BOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A massive explosion unlike anything the universe had ever seen before erupted from above.
BOOMM!! BOOOM!!! BOOOMMM!!!!
Multiple follow-up eruptions rocked the trio who had instinctively crouched low after the initial blast.
"Damn it. That spatial explosion had ripped apart the time-space continuum in the skies above us!" Alexander cursed.
"Uh… Is that bad?" Princess Anastasia said timidly.
"Very bad!" Alexander cried out as he frantically sent out more golden streams to stabilize the area above him. "If I do not stabilize the space immediately, it would open up a gateway to god knows when and where, it could even open up a gateway to a space storm! It will then enter this planet and…"
Alexander paused his frantic shouting for a moment as he glanced up in surprise. His second wave of golden space energy had immediately reacted according to his will and closed the space-time rip within seconds.
"A-and?" Princess Anastasia said with a fearful voice, her round eyes staring at Alexander.
"And nothing." Alexander finished. "I managed to, err, close it in time. All is good now, don't worry Princess!" Alexander smiled at Princess Anastasia reassuringly.
"You're sure? You're not just saying it to make me feel better right?" Princess Anastasia asked Alexander, not fully trusting that they're already safe.
"Why don't I take you up to take a look? I think the initial explosion should have wiped out our enemies." Alexander said right before another blinding beam of light smashed into his golden barrier.
BAM!!!
"Or not." Flamewing said with a laugh.
"Or not." Princess Anastasia echoed with her own nervous laughter.
The beam that hit them this time was smaller, but the golden barrier actually shook slightly.
Alexander frowned. That beam was many times more powerful than the previous four combined. It must be a higher grade flying ship.
HUMMMM!!!
The golden barrier began to shake violently.
"Wait here." Alexander tersely instructed the other two. He gripped his Crystal Sword, placed another golden barrier around him and rose up into the beam of light majestically.

"Shields down to twenty percent, Cap'n!" Screamed a Control Officer stationed on the ship's bridge.
"We just lost all of our fighters! Visual confirmation received!" Yelled another Control Officer.
"Target report." Captain Hilde said calmly.
"Target intact, Cap'n!" Reported Vice Captain Joshua in a similarly calm voice.
The two of them were veteran warriors under Prince Flario, and had seen their share of emergency situations. And thus, they were unperturbed by the sudden downturn in their fortunes.
"Fire the main cannon." Captain Hilde instructed with a level voice.
Her calmness was like a refreshing splash of cold water for the people manning the bridge.
"Aye aye, Cap'n" replied the Control Officer, who was screaming in panic mere seconds ago, relatively calmly. "Main cannon charging… fully charged. Main cannon firing! Target hit! No breakthrough. I repeat, no breakthrough."
"Increase cannon power to 80%."
"Increasing cannon power to 80%." Echoed the Control Officer. "Cannon power increased to eigh… Wha...TT????"
Captain Hilde scowled in irritation at her panicking subordinate. "Stay calm and report!" She snapped at the Control Officer.
"Aye Cap'n! Cannon fire is currently being pushed back! Distance: one hundred and fifty meters.."
"What did you say? Pushed back?" Captain Hilde asked incredulously. She may have seen a lot of weird things in her life as a veteran soldier, but she had NEVER heard of cannon fire, and a battlecruiser's MAIN cannon at that, being pushed back?!
"Aye, Cap'n! Distance: one hundred meters and closing fast! Fifty meters! He's here! HE'S HE-" The Control Officer's scream was cut halfway by Alexander's grand entrance.
BOOM!!
*-*-*-*-*
"A Symphonian Battlecruiser is made out of Space Alloy. You won't be able to smash it open. You need to slice it with space blades. And even then, it would be difficult! You'll have to bypass its shields first. You're still a brand new Scion Lord, your powers are barely gelling together via the Crystal Sword. At most, you'll be able to exert 5% of your full power. 5% is NOT enough to go against a Symphonian Battlecruiser." Flamewing lectured patiently.
"I'm resisting its main weapon fire easily, aren't I? I'm pretty sure I can smash it open with one punch." Alexander replied confidently.
"No you won't. Trust me, you're better off attacking from a distance with countless space blades to wear down its shield. It survived your spatial explosion unscathed didn't it? It's defenses are extremely high! The highest among all Symphonian space going vessels!" Flamewing went on.
"Nope, I'm going to punch it." Alexander said stubbornly as they continued to push back the cannon fire and approached the humongous vessel.
It was an impressive vessel. Shaped like a horizontal double axe-head, it was sleek and smooth, and fully white in colour. A large cannon in front of the bridge was pointing downwards and firing at Alexander continuously.
"It's a pretty vessel, it looks like some sort of winged animal. Too bad though, I'm going to smash its teeth into smithereens." Alexander moved the Crystal Sword to his left hand, and prepared to throw a massive right hook with his right hand.
"I'm going to enjoy saying 'I told you so' for the next few days when you fail miserably." Flamewing smirked.
BOOM!!
Alexander's fist smashed into the Symphonian Battlecruiser's shields and exploded magnificently.
Cracks appeared in the sky surrounding the Symphonian Battlecruiser for an instant before shimmering slightly.
"Alexander's space energy infused punch at 5% power: 1, Very Impressive Symphonian Battlecruiser Shield: 0." It was Alexander's turn to smirk at Flamewing. "Let's see if this Space Alloy of yours can do a better job."
"The shield integrity must have been brought lower than I expected by the spatial explosion. And you seem to be controlling your new powers rather well." Flamewing said grudgingly.
Alexander laughed as he threw another punch at the ship's armor. This time, the ensuing explosion was MUCH louder.
B O O O O O O M ! ! ! ! !
A giant hole appeared in the ship's armor.
WHEEEE!! WHEEEE!!
Alexander could hear the emergency sirens blaring at full blast within the battlecruiser.
"It must be hailing somewhere in Arcanus 26! You're actually acknowledging that I'm doing well?" Alexander laughed. He teleported a short distance away and aimed his next punch at an important looking bump between the ship's beautiful wings and the central bridge.
B O O O O O O M ! ! ! ! !
He threw another punch. This time, he infused it with lightning power.
ZZZZZZTTTTT! Sparks flew out of the entire ship as it overloaded in electrical power.
HUMMM!!
A loud hum sounded as the Symphonian Battlecruiser lost power.
HUMMM!!!!
Another loud hum sounded again almost immediately as the Symphonian Battlecruiser regained power through an auxiliary power source.
Alexander's punch had almost severed the connection between the ship's right wing and its central bridge. He drew back his right arm for another punch to fully destroy that connection.
"STOP!!" A feral scream sounded from the ship's main bridge somewhere above Alexander.
A handsome woman dressed in a Symphonian Military Uniform was leaning down and screaming at him.
"STOP PUNCHING MY SHIP!" She screamed.
"Huh?" Alexander was stunned for a second. "You're asking me to stop punching your ship?" He asked incredulously.
"YES! STOP IT AT ONCE!" Screamed the woman again, apparently very much in distress.
"And you actually think I'll listen to you?" Alexander laughed and his right hand glowed a fiery red.
"YOU-"
Alexander didn't let the crazy woman finish her sentence before smashing her ship with another destructive punch, this time infused with fire and space energy.
B O O O O O M ! ! ! !
Another satisfying explosion rocked the ship and its left wing began to fall slowly down to the ground.
