Chapter 59- What am I~2
Chapter 59- What am I~2
Where am I....?
Everywhere I see, there is darkness.
It felt like this was the same point I saw just after I transitioned from my previous life to this one.
Wait...that means I am dead?
'How can I be so careless?' I gritted my teeth in frustration. I have always been so cautious about my identity as a Dark Magic user and just now, I ended up consuming Ala's blood.
Fuck...I don't wanna die.
In my previous life, I didn't have much of an attachment to anyone. Just an average person at best. But in this life, I have someone I don't want to part away from. Someone whom I love more than my own life and dreamt of making a happy family with her.
....but all that dissolved into ruins just because of a single mistake.
'No man...' I closed my eyes and dropped to my knees. This was so depressing...I was feeling helpless.
[Quite miserable you look.]
Amidst the silence that was mutual everywhere in this void, a voice that cannot be distinguished whether it belonged to a male or female, resounded profoundly.
I lifted my head and looked toward my front
It was a figure...of something with wings. The centre body of the being was covered in shadows and the only thing that I could make the details out of was the two shades of its wings.
The left-wing was like an angel's. Pure white feather, fluffy and delicate. But the right one was quite horrifying.
Broad, shadowy wings, their leathery surfaces etched with faint, glowing veins, exuding a sense of foreboding power. It felt like someone had draped translucent dark curtains over bones to look more like wings.
"....what are you?" In the story, there was never a reference to something like this. A devil and an angel? What in the seven world, this abomination was?
[I...am something you can be.]
My brows frowned, "How?"
[Don't you already know? The reason why you are still alive and never feel troubled despite living so close to a Divine Awakened?]
My heart clenched in anxiety hearing that. However, before anything I needed to confirm something, "Am I...really alive?"
[Oh, yes. You are. It's just this is the first time you ingested the Divine Blood so this minor shock was inevitable. And to unlock these memories, this seemed to be the best opportunity.]
My frown deepened hearing that. Nothing it said made any sense.
"Memories you say...but whose?"
[That doesn't matter. The purpose of this memory is to warn you. Warn you about the beings who are aware of your existence and dread your potential. These individuals can massacre thousands without hesitation, all in the name of eradicating what they perceive as the true evil—that is you.]
"But what am I?!" I couldn't help but let my voice elevate a little. This was so complicated and frustrating that I didn't know where should I focus first.
Suddenly, the figure of the winged individual began to fade and only the last of its words kept on echoing in my head,
[You will soon find out...just be cautious of whom you trust....this world is more accursed than you think....]
"Kyle!"
"Huh?" My vision suddenly changed from that void to Alatia. She was looking down at me with tears staining her eyes.
I heaved a deep breath and felt calmness washing over me. The fact I could feel her warmth and hear her voice was enough evidence to let me know that I was back.
I slowly brought my hand to her cheek and softly caressed her,
"Why are you crying....?"
"Shut up! You had me dead for a moment!" She held my hand tightly to her chest and wept even more.
It wasn't common for Alatia to be so emotional which means she indeed was quite worried. Well, that's understandable since I collapsed all of a sudden.
"I think you should give him some space to breathe."
My brows knitted upon hearing that voice which definitely didn't belong to Alatia.
...somehow I knew this voice.
With Alatia's help, I got up and found the same person I expected.
Clara.
I barely resisted the urge to show any reaction upon witnessing the woman here in this house and staring at me with that smirk.
'There is no doubt....'While I was unconscious, I wasn't able to mask the presence of her potions.
But the question was, "Why...is Professor Clara here?"
"Oh, you know me?" The grin on Clara's face extended but I responded to her while still pretending to be innocent,
"I know every Professor who teaches here so I could prepare an accurate schedule for my lady."
My answer might be plausible, but the damn smile on her face tells me she didn't believe a word of it.
Tch.
"Thank you for your assistance, Professor." Alatia bowed her head and thanked the lady—much to Clara's fluster.
"I-I just did what a teacher should have." Okay, so she still was not immune to getting thanked by her students. Well, that's funny.
I also lowered my head and thanked the lady, "Thank you for saving me, Professor. I will do my best to return the favour if the chance arises."
Hearing that comment, Clara giggled before she informed me, "I will be looking forward to that occasion."
Saying so she got up from the chair and handed Alatia some vials of potion, "These are for safety purposes. If he feels dizzy or nauseous feed him one of these. Ah, and, make sure there is a time gap of eight hours between every dose."
Alatia nodded to that and saw her off to the entrance.
I sat down on the couch and heaved a lengthy sigh. It felt like I had just travelled across a vast distance in a very short time. My muscles were a bit sore and so was my throat. And now this stress of Clara was weighing over me
'Be cautious of who you trust.' Those words echoed in my head and I couldn't help but feel this situation to be even more burdensome.
Having Alatia the only person who knows about my secret was enough. I didn't want to let anyone else know about it....after all, I can't believe in anyone as much as I have trust in Alatia.
'Haah...this is one hell of a situation...'

After leaving the dorm room where Clara went to check up on a butler, she couldn't help but grin ear to ear.
She. Found. Him.
It was like she had received gifts at the summer festival from the fairy that much elation she was experiencing right now. No, this was probably far greater joy.
'He wasn't able to distract me this time, fufu~' She didn't notice how she was now hopping toward the teacher's block while remembering the face of the silver-haired.
Now that she knows his identity, nothing in this world can stop Clara from getting to know more about her Prince.
Hehe~

While Clara was leaving the dorm section, she totally missed a pair of eyes that caught her figure in the darkness.
'Professor Clara...' Ceaser frowned his brows seeing that happy smile on her face and given from which direction she was coming, the reason behind her smile became evident.
*Clench*
The ground trembled under his untamed aura as he clenched his fist and followed Clara with his eyes.
This was going far beyond his tolerance now.
The woman he desires has gotten too close to another man.
This was not acceptable.
Every woman should know, which ma
n they are destined to please. And this bitch is now breaching her boundaries!
'Unforgivable...'
