Chapter 62: Did you catch something?
"Woah, hey…" Nicholas dodged to one side, his feet skidding on the ground as he was sent flying back after his sister kicked him. His eyes flashed with a gleam as he looked at his sister. "You little— you are still the same aren't you?"
"I am still the same," taunted Wistoria. "But it looks like you are losing your touch."
He got to his feet and unsheathed his claws before saying, "I was going to go easy on you but since you are asking for it." The tips of his claws lit up with flames. "I think there is no need for me to hold back on you."
"I never said that I wanted you to go easy on me."
Nicholas smiled at Wistoria, however, his smile didn't reach his eyes as he charged at his sister.
BANG!
The ground shook with the loud bang and so did the manors surrounding the training grounds, startling the residents inside of the building.
"Ohh, dear!" Lord Gilderoy looked down at the teacup in his hands and peered at the burning ground through the window of his study. "Those two are at it again." he sighed when he saw that the grounds were burning.
With a bite of impatience in his sigh, he turned to look at his aide and assistant, Arthur. He said to him, "Go. Bring a few servants with you and do something about the fire before the entire Wolfe manor is burnt to crisp. I can't have the house burned down to the ground again. I am rather fond of the new hunting arena."
"This is a good place, close to the mountains, we cannot lose it."
"I understand, My Lord," said Arthur with a bow and his hand placed on his abdomen. The man turned on his feet and then walked out of the study, leaving Lord Gilderoy to look at the grounds which were still burning.
He shook his head and muttered under his breath, "I wonder what's wrong with Ria, now."
"Hurry."
"More water, we need some more water."
"Right here, if we don't pour the water here—the fire will spread throughout the grounds."
"The fire here is insane!"
Arthur observed the flames that were burning in the training grounds, his silver hair glowed in the orangish glow as he pivoted on his feet and turned to look at the two culprits of this fire.
"Lord Nicholas, Lady Wistoria..if I may, can you please tell me what led to this sudden sinister desire to burn the entire training ground to crisp, of yours to rise?" Arthur asked as he looked at the two of them with a sweet smile on his lips.
"I apologise, Arthur," though feeling a tad bit guilty, Nicholas smiled at Arthur gently. He said to him, "Can you relay our apology to father? We certainly did not mean to let lose to this point. It seems like we got carried away while training."
Getting carried away didn't even seem to cover it as there was another resounding crash as the stone frame around the training ground fell and servants screamed in panic.
Arthur turned his head over his shoulders to look at the crumbling stones with a stoic expression. He then turned to look back at the two heirs of the Wolfe family and remarked, "…That is obvious. I hope that you do realise that the cost of repairs will be taken out of your budget?"
"We do."
"Yes, Arthur."
Only then did the elderly man nod in satisfaction before taking his leave as he needed to arrange the servants who were in panic.
Nicholas watched the man leave before releasing a sigh. Arthur was not only the assistant of his father, he was the one who had more or less raised the two of them after the death of their mother.
"Why did you use the Claws of Flames?" He asked his sister while staring at the destruction that the two of them had caused, it was in fact caused by Wistoria alone but of course, he was lumped together with her.
Had been since he was a child.
'You are the oldest, why don't you pay attention to your sister?'
'Nicholas as the oldest stop your sister from getting into trouble.'
After trying to stop Wistoria who paid little heed to his warnings, he decided to might as well join her.
"You annoyed me," said Wistoria simply as she turned around on her feet and then walked out of the training grounds.
"I did?" Nicholas shook his head as he walked behind Wistoria, lagging a step behind her. "I only asked you to change yourself, Ria. If you continue keeping everything inside you—you will find that you will lose the things that you want."
"Who said that I want that idiot!" Wistoria exclaimed as she wheeled to look at her brother. "I will never— never.." she worked her mouth for a while but when nothing came out, she glared at her brother and stormed away.
Nicholas watched his ill-tempered sister and blinked his eyes before saying, "I think I should start treating Damien a bit better?"
***
"Achoo!" Damien sneezed as he wiped his nose and wiped his nose. "Did I catch a cold?" He muttered as he sat in the carriage.
"Do you feel sick?" Xavier asked as he raised his head from the floor of the carriage and turned his gaze at Damien. "Did you catch something venereal?"
"From a kiss? I know that you have been praying for me to get struck by an asteroid ever since yesterday.. but don't you think you are going too far?" Damien asked with a hint of affront in his voice.
Seriously, what the hell?
Dan on the other hand was on the roll as he started chattering, "Kissing is generally a low-risk activity when compared to everything else. However, it is not impossible, as an STD disease can spread through kissing."
"There are two types of STDs that spread through mouth-to-mouth kissing. First is HSV-1 and the second is Human papillomavirus."
"There are also chances for syphilis."
"Host, do you want me to examine you?" Dan asked with what he thought was a concerned expression. "I will give you a thorough one."
"Thank you for relaying such a wonderful show of concern, Dan. But I am fine," Dan said with a stoic expression. "I can assure you that I haven't caught any of those things."
