Chapter 2249: Real and Fake Xia Zhe
Paul stood next to Xia Zhe, who was currently tied to a chair with his hands behind his back. There was a black hood over his head and also dust and dried blood all over his body. He
looked as if he had gone through a tough fight.
"Fang Chen, have you ever thought that you would end up like this?" Daniel stood in front of Xia Zhe and said smugly.
There was no reply from Xia Zhe, but Daniel did not mind at all. In his eyes, the current Xia Zhe was like a wolf with serious injuries and was not half as lethal as a dog. He was not afraid at all.
"You should have expected to end up like this when you rejected our family's proposed marriage alliance. As if a lowly stowaway can be compared to our noble bloodline! Alan's family has had its roots in Country M for many generations. It's not a family that you can surpass in just two years. I always wonder what my father sees in you?" Daniel said disdainfully.
Paul and Ella had never seen Daniel's real self before since he had always disguised his thoughts. All this while, they thought that Daniel was only a grouchy young man. Xia Zhe suddenly felt a sense of admiration for Daniel's acting skills. In front of outsiders, he looked like a normal young man, but in reality, he was like a dirty maggot in the gutter.
Ugly and disgusting.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Daniel wanted to reach out and remove the hood from Xia Zhe's head, but at this moment, Ella suddenly rushed forward and pushed Daniel to the ground, holding him down firmly. A big group of people suddenly rushed out from the surroundings and knocked out all the bodyguards that Daniel had brought with him. Daniel struggled with all his might and roared angrily, "Assholes! How dare you betray us!" "This is not a betrayal," Xia Zhe said as he slowly walked out from afar.
Daniel looked at Xia Zhe in disbelief and said in shock, "Why are you there! Then who's the one sitting here!"
That "Xia Zhe", who was tied to the chair, took off the hood. Da Dong shook out his hair and sighed as he said, "Boss, I won't do something like this again in the future. It's so hard to breathe. You have to compensate me for this later."
"Sure, I'll give you a bonus," Xia Zhe said.
It was Daniel's turn to be tied to the chair now and he looked even more miserable than the "Xia Zhe" from before.
"What exactly do you want!" Daniel said.
"I think Alan probably can't bear to part with his precious son. If I use you to exchange for the blueprints of the weapons, do you think he will agree?" Xia Zhe asked with a laugh.
"How dare you! My father won't let you off!" Daniel said loudly.
Xia Zhe grabbed Daniel by the hair and said mockingly, "Why won't I dare? Don't forget that you're in my hands now and I can do whatever I want. How does it feel to be living under someone else's roof? You should try and enjoy the experience."
Xia Zhe gave Ella and Paul a look and they immediately understood what he meant. He quietly walked out of the abandoned warehouse and stood under the sun. A moment later, loud groans could be heard inside the warehouse.
Daniel had treated Ella and Paul badly earlier and even wanted to hurt their precious daughter. Now that their enemy was right in front of them, they would not miss out on such a good opportunity! The two of them had all kinds of ways to torture people and could even destroy a person's mind without causing any bodily harm.
Alan returned home from his office. He had recently thought of a new breakthrough while going through the blueprints, but the mold for the weapon he was experimenting on was in the basement of his house. He wanted to study it carefully.
He certainly did not expect to find the power supply down when he entered the basement. Cold sweat broke out on his back as alarm bells sounded in his head.
Someone had broken into the basement!
He rushed into the inner part of the basement and noted that all the surveillance cameras had been destroyed. Although all the items remained intact, there were signs that the blueprints in the room had been rummaged through.
"Men! Men!" Alan held the blueprints and stomped his feet angrily.
The butler ran into the basement nervously. He was the only one who could enter this place, but he also needed Alan's prior permission before he did it.
"What happened, Old Master?" the butler said fearfully.
"How long has it been since you last came to the basement? You don't even know that someone has entered this place! What's the use of having you around!" Alan said furiously.
"I'm sorry, Old Master. I have been too careless," the butler said and quickly admitted to the mistake.
Alan was so angry that he felt a little dizzy. He held onto the table at the side and suddenly spotted something sparkly on the ground. He pointed in that direction and the butler immediately picked up the item with both hands and handed it to Alan.
"These... are a woman's earrings," Alan said.
"It's... it's Eldest Miss's jewelry," the butler said.
"Are you sure?" Alan asked.
The butler looked up and said firmly, "Yes, I was the one who went to pick up this pair of earrings for Eldest Miss. She had originally planned to wear them at the banquet that day."
