After The Abyss Dragon Woke Up

Chapter 99.1

Chapter 99.1

Doubt Was a Strange Thing (1)

Hidden from the view in the night.

The only speedboat that escaped from that fight broke through the dark waves and headed for the distant shore.

An unknown island outside the Luosi District.

It was not within the district and was sometimes used briefly as a transit point on the sea.

On a shallow beach in the remote southern part of the island, a small team of mercenaries was waiting to be picked up.

Soon, they saw a speedboat breaking the waves in the distance, but this did not cheer up the mercenaries.

For there was only one left.

The boat arrived at the shore soon, and several gloomy-faced mercenaries jumped off the boat with difficulty, each of them with wounds, some limping, others covering their stomachs, and everyone’s body was covered with half-dried blood.

The mercenaries waiting on the shore rushed forward and held the men in place.

“Where are the others?”

The mercenary leader spat out a mouthful of bloodied spit. “Pah! Everyone is fucking gone.” He had a slightly twisted expression on his face. “Blame that damned Mu Heng…”

“Where is the sword?”

The mercenary’s expression became even more somber. “Damn it! We couldn’t get it.”

This sneak attack plan was utterly ruined.

They were going to sneak onto the ship by taking advantage of the night and the cover of the thick fog, but they didn’t expect to be found on the trail before they could get close enough and were forced to fight the bureau squad short-handedly.

Not to mention grabbing the sword, they were lucky to survive the sea.

At the end of the mercenary squad, an inconspicuous figure stood up. He was clad in black robes, his head and face all hidden in the shadows, his voice hoarse, but it was impossible to hear whether he was old or young. His voice had a suffocating metallic quality, appearing cold and distant.

“What about the matter we handed over to you?”

The mercenary took a deep breath and said through clenched teeth, “We did it according to what you said. The rift was indeed opened, but our team was scattered later. For some reason, we couldn’t contact the other ship that carried out the mission. Fuck, we aren’t clear about the follow-up. Mu Heng’s group must have dealt with them… Damn it! We’ve fucking gone out for nothing…”

However, before his words were finished, he heard the black-robed man let out a short laugh.

“No problem. My purpose has already been achieved.”

In the darkness hidden by the robe, the corners of the black-robed man’s lips rose silently upward, seemingly very satisfied with the result.

He said slowly, “Now, take me to your leader.”

“Besides the information about the dragon, I have more things you guys need here.”

“—I’m looking forward to our next transaction.”

***

Shi An waited with some apprehension.

This strange and lousy idea came from those three demonic creatures, whether it was helpful or not…

He also didn’t know.

There was no sound outside for a long time.

At that moment, when Shi An’s heart was in a mess, he felt a soft fabric placed in his palm, which fell heavily.

It should be a bathrobe.

Shi An breathed a silent sigh of relief.

But just as he was about to pull his hand back, his wrist was firmly tugged.

Shi An: “!!!”

The other party’s fingers were firm and the rough leather gloves rubbed against his skin, bringing a vague slight pain.

“What are you doing?” Shi An was a bit flustered.

“The wound won’t heal properly after getting into the water.”

The man’s low voice came through the doorway.

“You’re too careless.”

Mu Heng lowered his eyes and his gaze landed on top of the young man’s arm.

The flesh and bones were even and smooth, the wrist bones were slender, and the soft white skin was flushed with a layer of wet thin powder like extremely fragile jade as if it could be easily broken with just one push.

He caught the other person’s hand and gently turned the young man’s slender wrist.

Mu Heng bent down and planted a kiss on the inside of the other party’s delicate wrist.

“… Hey!”

Shi An was burned by that scorching temperature and slightly shivered. He couldn’t help but want to take his hand back, but the result yielded little.

“L-Let go.”

He had now begun to regret his decision.

After a pause of several seconds, the other party lightly loosened the strength of his fingers.

Shi An hurriedly tugged the bathrobe and shrank back.

He shook off his hand, but the heat and touch of the other party’s lips did not disappear so quickly.

Shi An rubbed his wet hair with some annoyance, took a deep breath, and wiped his face hard.

What kind of bad ideas did those three creatures give him?

They always pitted against him!

Garbage!

Shi An gritted his teeth.

He would be damned if he ever listened to the advice of these three devils again!

He sighed reluctantly, put on his bathrobe with the most dilly-dallying speed, then pulled open the door and walked out of the bathroom.

Mu Heng sat on the bed.

The outside of his coat had been removed, but his body was still surrounded by the heavy smell of blood that could not be dispersed. The gloves were removed and rested on the back of a chair.

The wet steam diffused and quickly filled the entire space.
