Chapter 70 - Audition
Chapter 70: Audition
“Ready, Action!”
No one paid any more attention to Zhang Yan. Director Zheng was busy filming the other people’s scenes.
Jiang Zhi accompanied Lu Mian in the costume room to change. She lowered her head and marked out a few lines from the script, reminding him of the points he needed to pay attention to when performing.
After Jiang Lu finished filming the commercial, she returned to the production team. When she saw how serious the two of them were in the scene, she could not help but mock them.
“They’re just supporting characters. Do they need to waste so much time on two lines in this scene? Working with amateurs is such a headache!”
Jiang Zhi was studying the plot. When she saw Jiang Lu’s “Professional” behavior when it came to ordering makeup artists to beautify herself, she was speechless.
This scene was the part where Jiang Lu and Lu Mian’s characters shone the most in “Beacon”!
“Beacon” was a huge movie that emphasized both power and emotion. In the early stages, the plot emphasized power and intrigue. In the later stages, the princess played by Jiang Lu had to go through hardships to mature after the fall of the country. Then, she had to join hands with the male and female protagonists to embark on the journey of restoring the country.
In today’s scene of the fall of the country, Lu Mian played the role of the prince who died saving the princess. Jiang Lu needed to feel the pain in order to make the audience sympathize.
But now, she was focused on how to show her most beautiful side in front of the camera?
Jiang Zhi sneered. Hearing Director Zheng’s urging, she brought Lu Mian to the shooting location.
The extras were to lay on the ground for half a day, playing corpses. The special effects team set up a green screen so that they could take pictures in the later stages. Everything was ready.
Lu Mian was wearing armor and half a short arrow protruded from his chest. He fell into Jiang Lu’s arms.
Director Zheng instructed the cameraman to push the camera into orbit and capture a close-up of Jiang Lu. She hugged Lu Mian and looked at his face, but she could not bring any emotion into it…
“Cut!”
Director Zheng shouted in dissatisfaction. He had no choice but to ask the makeup team’s teacher to give Jiang Lu some eye drops so that it would be easier to capture her tears.
Jiang Lu took a deep breath. The next second, her mind went blank and she forgot her lines.
“What the hell is going on! If you have such an attitude, don’t shoot anymore!”
Seeing that the sun was about to set and the cold wind was blowing in the prairie night, the extras could not hold on any longer. Director Zheng held the walkie-talkie in anger and roared, scolding Jiang Lu in front of everyone.
“As an actress, you can’t even remember two lines! You might as well give the opportunity to someone else!”
Ever since her debut, under the protection of the Jiang family, Jiang Lu had countless good resources that were envied by others. Of course, she did not know how to cherish them.
The industry directors praised Jiang Lu because of her background and family background. However, she slowly forgot the original purpose of acting. Her spirituality and talent were worn away by her daily slacking. Now, she was left with an empty shell and exaggerated physical performance…
Director Zheng criticized her in public, which made Jiang Lu unhappy. She rushed to the monitor and found all kinds of unreasonable excuses.
“The shooting effect was not good because there was a gap between my height and Lu Mian’s. I couldn’t catch him completely when he was hit by an arrow!
“Moreover, I’ve spent too much time with him on the set. We’re too familiar with each other, so I couldn’t bring any emotions into it!”
Director Zheng was so angry that he could not speak. He stood up and pointed at Jiang Zhi, who was outside the monitor, and said loudly, “Jiang Zhi’s relationship with Lu Mian is closer than yours! Believe it or not, she can act better than you!”
This comparison made Jiang Lu extremely angry!
Jiang Zhi had not taken any professional classes for a long time, so she did not know what acting was!
Jiang Lu wanted to see her make a fool of herself, so she urged, “If that’s the case, why don’t you let her show me?”
Director Zheng snorted and immediately said, “Jiang Zhi, come here!”
“Me?”
Jiang Zhi wanted to decline, but she could not resist Director Zheng’s encouragement. She remembered a few lines from Jiang Lu and reluctantly agreed.
The scene that the film crew had set up was simple, but the atmosphere was thick.
Jiang Zhi followed the scenes of the second female lead and knelt on the ground. Her face was full of confusion and great sorrow.
From that moment on, she was the princess of a fallen country. Her parents were trapped in the burning palace. The young prince, who had been her childhood friend, had brought her to the grassland, but he was surrounded by the enemy.
The young prince had killed the last enemy at the cost of his life. He had also been shot in the chest. He could not hold on any longer.
“Action!”
Director Zheng gave the order.
Jiang Zhi watched helplessly as Lu Mian fell into his arms.
Lu Mian was dressed in heavy armor, and blood splattered on his pale face, making him look breathtakingly beautiful.
He weakly raised his hand and caressed her cheek. His deep blue eyes were filled with uncontrollable affection, as well as relief after making sure that she was safe.
“Nan Nan, you have to live…”
He called the princess by her nickname in a low voice and coughed out a mouthful of warm blood from his chest. “Cough cough… we… will be with you where you can’t see us…”
His blue eyes were unfocused, and there was a strong longing in them.
However, he was still trying his best to hold on, afraid that she would seek death because of her excessive grief. “Promise me… Don’t come to us too soon…”
Jiang Zhi looked at him, and her heart suddenly throbbed violently.
