Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 45 Shen ye and linkir

---

Linkir looked down in stunned silence at the child whose head was resting on her chest. "Brother!" Anya shouted, grabbing Shen Ye's hand and pulling him away.

Shen Ye had a blissful expression on his face, a silly smile lingering as he looked up. Anya shook him multiple times, but he was lost in his own world, savoring the soft sensation he'd felt around his head moments ago.

Linkir watched the two children for a moment before lowering her gaze. She distinctly remembered being cut in two—how was she alive? She couldn't shake her curiosity. Was demon regeneration really this powerful, or was that attack weaker than it seemed? Puzzled, she decided to figure out where she was first.

She had seen the divine plane of her world shatter, knowing she had been there, but how did she end up here? She pondered this while limping toward the door, noticing the leaf tied around her wound.

Opening the door, her eyes widened at the breathtaking scene before her.

Waterfalls cascaded with glass-like clarity, a vast forest stretched out for miles, and birds flew above while the distant roars and howls of creatures echoed from the trees. She realized she was at the edge of a mountain, and the hut she stood in was perched precariously on that edge.

"Are these kids insane, or are they stronger than they look?" she wondered. She had examined them earlier—they weren't even at Rank 0. They were... well, she couldn't describe it. Nothing she had encountered was this weak, not even a newborn from her former world.

"Auntie!" came a soft, cheerful voice. Looking down, she saw a small head peeking out.

"Hey…" Linkir replied in a shaky voice, still dazed.

"Auntie, you've been sleeping for so long! You should eat something. You're like the higher beings, surviving without food for ages. And you're so beautiful!" Anya smiled, her face lighting up with two small dimples.

Unknowingly, Linkir felt a small wave of relief. The feeling, mixed with her still-blank mind, only confused her more. What was going on?

But something about that innocent smile made her nod.

Anya, overjoyed at the response, quickly dragged Linkir inside. She wanted this auntie to taste her food. After all, her brother would eat anything—he was a notorious foodie. They had left the city because of his constant hunger, and now they lived here where food was plentiful.

Linkir sat down on the floor with Anya and Shen Ye. Two strange sticks were placed in front of her, alongside a steaming bowl of food.

"Uh... what is this?" Linkir asked, confused. During the time Anya had been cooking, she had felt her regeneration accelerate and had removed the leaf tied around her wound.

"It's called hot noodles! My brother made it. It's a new dish that's selling really well," Anya beamed, picking up the two sticks and expertly using them to eat.

"You should try it, princess. I made it myself—aren't I a genius?" Shen Ye added, grinning as he picked up the sticks in front of Linkir.

He then slowly showed her how to use the chopsticks.

After a few attempts, Linkir nodded. "I think I've got it," she said.

"Great! Tell me what you think," Anya said, her eyes shining with excitement. Although the dish sold well, this was the first time someone besides her brother would try her cooking.

Linkir carefully took a bite, her eyes widening as she swallowed. It was… delicious. Her body responded to the meal, savoring every bite.

In no time, she had finished the entire bowl.

"Wow, you eat as fast as my brother! So, is it good?" Anya asked eagerly.

Linkir nodded with a pleading expression. "More…"

Anya grinned. "I cooked a lot because of my big bro, but you can have some too. I'm sure he won't mind sharing," she said, looking over at Shen Ye, who nodded like a satisfied cat, his bowl already empty.

Anya shook her head and got up to serve them more. Soon enough, the two of them were eating like animals, competing to devour every last bite.

Watching them, Anya couldn't help but smile as they quickly emptied the big bowl.

"Are you satisfied?" Anya asked, amused.

"Yes, thank you," they both said in unison before burping in sync.

Linkir was shocked by how much she had eaten. Her appetite had increased, though the meal was nothing compared to what her Rank 1 body usually required. But in her normal form, it seemed she could now enjoy food—a new discovery.

"You said it sells well… so why did you leave?" Linkir asked.

Shen Ye's expression darkened slightly. "Well, let's just say we ran into some trouble—greed. We offended some powerful people."

"Auntie, it was my fault," Anya said, her voice dropping as she looked down. "Brother offended a powerful higher being because of me. They… they wanted me as a slave."

Linkir's heart twisted at the little girl's words. Her mind flashed back to her own experiences—betrayed by her own people after helping them. She felt a pang of sadness for the siblings.

"Higher beings?" Linkir asked, curious.

"They're like you," Shen Ye explained. "Same creature, but evolved. I'll be like them soon enough."

"Brother, you've been saying that since last year," Anya teased with a laugh.

Linkir, silently observing, felt a calmness wash over her. She decided to leave behind thoughts of war, her former self, and everything else. She would protect these two.

"I will… protect you," Linkir said, smiling warmly.

Shen Ye gasped. "Auntie, your smile is so beautiful!" Anya added, rushing over to hug Linkir. She could only reach her waist.

Linkir felt an unfamiliar sensation—comfort. Was this what family love felt like?

"Hehe… lovely," Shen Ye said, grabbing Linkir's hand. "I'll protect you, Linkir. I promise… I'll protect both of you," he said with a sheepish smile.

Linkir blushed, her face heating up. No one had ever said that to her before. After all, she was only 18—a young girl.

Seizing the moment, Shen Ye moved closer, his eyes lingering on her chest.

"This is my chance," he thought. "After years of being single and called a pervert on Earth, here I'll finally enjoy myself… especially with this beauty…"

But before he could act, Anya shouted, "Brother!" and pushed him away, her angry expression only making her look cuter.

Shen Ye sighed, placing his hands behind his head as he walked outside, the thin weed in his mouth giving him a strange sense of calm. The two girls were still sleeping, and the cool breeze of the morning surrounded him.

"This new life...," he muttered, eyes distant as he thought about everything that had led him here.

He wasn't from this world. No, Shen Ye came from Earth. Back there, life had been tough. He'd grown up with no parents, working tirelessly just to survive and put himself through school. And in his loneliness, he'd turned to perversion—not because he wanted to, but because it distanced people from him. It was his mask, a way to cope with the isolation.

But then she came along.

A playful, beautiful girl who, against all odds, fell in love with him. She chased him, teased him, and even let him do what he wanted. At first, Shen Ye enjoyed it, but soon enough, it became unbearable. She was like a leech, sucking the life out of him. Worse, she was the daughter of a wealthy man, already promised to another. Her fiancé...

a powerful, dangerous man who eventually killed Shen Ye.

And just before his last breath left him, he learned the painful truth: she had never loved him. He was nothing more than a pawn, a tool to make her fiancé jealous. He died like a discarded rag, his life meaningless in the eyes of the powerful.

Shen Ye's fist clenched, his face twisting with anger. "Not this time. In this life, it won't happen again."

Stay tuned for updates on empire

He took a deep breath, allowing the rage to settle. His life here was different, not only because of his rebirth but also because of his power. Unlike the typical stories of transmigration, his golden finger wasn't a system, but an ability—an endless devouring ability. But there was a catch: he could only devour so much each day.

Sixteen years. Sixteen long years of devouring, and now, finally, he'd reached the tipping point.

"What comes next?" Shen Ye wondered aloud as he walked deeper into the forest.

His thoughts drifted back to his early days in this world. He'd been born into a loving family, but that too was ripped from him. A higher being had killed his family when he was just five years old. From that moment on, he'd had to fend for himself, and eventually for his little sister. He had gained wealth and power, introducing ideas from Earth, but it wasn't enough.

Wealth without strength was worthless.

The higher being wanted his sister, Anya, as a plaything. A sick, despicable being. That was the real reason Shen Ye and his sister had fled to this forest. He made a vow that day: once his power was unlocked, that higher being would be the first to fall.

In the forest, Shen Ye found one of the traps he'd set, catching a large, weak prey. He quickly pulled it from the trap and prepared a fire. Strangely, the animals here seemed to fear fire, though he didn't know why.

An hour later, Shen Ye had devoured the entire creature. For the first time, he felt full.

"Yes... finally..." He muttered, closing his eyes. There it was—the floodgate he'd been waiting for. The power surged through him, filling him with strength he'd never imagined.

"This... this strength!" Shen Ye gasped, his body trembling as the transformation took place. Compared to the higher being who had killed his family, Shen Ye knew—he was stronger.

"Sis, I can't wait to see your face when you find out," he thought, a smile creeping onto his face. The world was vast, far larger than anything he could comprehend, but with this power, he knew he could stand at the top.

His newfound ability was devouring. The stronger the being he consumed, the more power he gained. And now, without limit, he could devour endlessly. But there was a dark side to it. The ability had passed through countless owners, and every one of them had been consumed by it—devouring until they lost their sanity, becoming mindless beasts.

One past owner had devoured an entire universe in a single gulp.

The thought terrified Shen Ye. But it also excited him. He could become that powerful, but he would have to control himself. He could never allow himself to become a senseless monster, like the others before him.

Even the strongest devourer had been killed by a single being.

How? Shen Ye could barely fathom it. The being that had killed him had only spoken one word.

"Die."
