Chapter 1334: Venomous Curse

Within the valley.

Radiant light resonant power spread like flowing water and began to purify and eliminate all the corruption within the area.

Within the light resonant power was also a wisp of mysterious flame. It coated the light resonant power giving it an even more ethereal appearance.

This flame was naturally the Acquired Resonance Flame of Li Luo's from the Auric Halo.

It had its own mystical properties and was capable of refining an acquired resonance. Thus its seemed to have the ability to refine anything that existed in this world.

Meanwhile Jiang Qing'e's light resonant power came from triple ninth-grade Light resonances. It possessed a purity that none could compare with. Thus with the aid of Li Luo's Acquired Resonance Flame, it became the bane of any Other or wisp of corruption. Thus Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e believed that the hidden danger within the Foundational Spirit Treasures would be exposed by it no matter what. With the aid of pervasive and in depth refinement, it would be impossible for anything to escape.

The valley remained silent with the exception of the sizzling sound emitted by the resonant power refining the Foundational Spirit Treasure.

Meanwhile Li Foluo and Li Tingyue were tensely watching the duo work as their resonant power poured in gradually.

Time ticked by.

The three high-grade Foundational Spirit Treasure's didn't seem to react in any way.

Li Foluo then heaved a sigh of relief internally. He had obviously hoped that nothing was wrong with these Foundational Spirit Treasures. It was not because he doubted Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e's instincts but merely because it would save them a lot of trouble.

He knew very clearly that if Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e were not wrong, then this would be a colossally terrifying matter. It would indicate that a massive conspiracy beyond their wildest imaginations was occurring before them and everyone else was blind.

Li Tingyue then slightly smiled. "It looks like the problem isn't huge. Perhaps these Foundational Spirit Treasures have laid within the World End's River Treasure Domain for far too long and have naturally been stained by the corruption that surrounds them. Thus Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e's sharp senses recognized there might have been an issue."

Li Foluo slightly nodded his head upon hearing Li Tingyue's words. However, just as she spoke, a sudden change occurred.

A piercing cry resounded throughout the valley and it shocked everyone. As their gazes turned towards the source, they saw that the three high-grade Foundational Spirit Treasures that were being refined by Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e started to squirm crazily. It was as if they were living creatures.

At the same time, their surfaces began to swell as black sarcomas popped up, emitting pained wails as a black substance began to drip off them.

When this substance touched the duo's resonant power, it immediately transformed into countless strange black moths, all of which had wings which were covered with anguished human faces.

That said the moths were vaporized into oblivion shortly after.

Li Foluo and Li Tingyue's expressions immediately changed.

They could clearly sense that the black moths emitted frightening undulations of energy.

Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e knew that their intuition had not been wrong. These Foundational Spirit Treasures did conceal a grave danger!

Li Foluo's expression was complex as he frowned deeply. However he did feel a sense of relief as well. As none of them had ever come into contact with the Foundational Spirit Treasures, it meant that they would not have been affected.

"Damn it!" Meanwhile Li Tingyue's expression turned ugly. Worry surfaced in her heart as she was not clear of the harm these flying moths could have inflicted upon the squad.

This uncertainty was truly scary.

Just as Li Tingyue's mind was in a flurry, she sensed resonant power surging from someone beside her. That figure suddenly shot towards Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e whilst at the same time, a sharp sword energy flashed outwards attempting to decapitate the two.

This sudden development left everyone shocked. Especially because they saw who had taken action.

It was the First Grand Commander of the Dragon's Scale Guardians, Wen Xuan.

Wen Xuan did not hold any sort of enmity towards the two and thus her sudden action was completely out of everyone's expectations.

This was especially the case for Li Tingyue who stared blankly.

She couldn't understand why Wen Xuan would do this.

In the blink of an eye, Wen Xuan's attack had almost approached the two. However at the very last moment, the sword energy was smashed apart. Li Foluo stood before her as he stretched his hand out, directly destroying that sneak attack whilst retaliating.

Weng!

Majestic amounts of resonant power formed a tyrannical palm manifestation. It swatted towards Wen Xuan, sending her flying as she was buried into the walls of a nearby mountain.

Wen Xuan had second-grade Duke strength and was naturally not someone who was Li Foluo's opponent.

"Wen Xuan, what are you doing?!" Only now did Li Tingyue snap out of her stupor as her expression turned steely green, sternly shouting.

Wen Xuan struggled to extricate herself from the rubble. She did not answer Li Tingyue, only letting out low chittering noises. It was then when everyone noticed that her two eyes had turned pitch black.

A black substance constantly leaked from the corners of her eye leaving conspicuous marks on both sides of her cheek which was spine tingling to look at.

Dense corruption began to emanate from her body.

"She... she's been corrupted!" Li Foluo spoke heavily.

"How's that possible?!" "She's always been with us and with her second-grade Duke strength, how could a True Devil Other corrupt her without me knowing?" Li Tingyue said in disbelief.

Li Foluo paused as he thought about it. "Perhaps it's because of the Foundational Spirit Treasure?"

Li Tingyue frowned. "All of us have touched it but no one ended up like her..."

At this point her expression warped as she seemed to have thought of something.

"What is it?" Li Foluo's heart fell as he asked hurriedly.

Li Tingyue clenched her hands as she spoke with difficulty. "I remember now. Wen Xuan wanted to break into the third-grade Duke stage and thus refined one of the Foundational Spirit Treasures. However she didn't succeed."

Li Foluo's eyes shrunk. "She took one of the problematic Foundational Spirit Treasures to absorb?"

Li Tingyue's expression was ugly as she nodded her head.

It looked as though the issue with the Foundational Spirit Treasures was more serious than she had ever imagined.

"She's basically absorbed a venomous curse into her body." A voice suddenly rang out.

Li Foluo and Li Tingyue turned their heads to look at Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e who had completed the refinement process. At this point they had kept away the three high-grade Foundational Spirit Treasures as they walked over.

After a thorough refinement, the issue with the Foundational Spirit Treasures seemed to have been cleansed.

"Absorbing a venomous curse? What's that?" Li Foluo and Li Tingyue asked.

Jiang Qing'e continued, "As we were refining those flying moths, I received some vague information about it. The issue with these Foundational Spirit Treasures should be that they have been afflicted with a venomous curse. Specifically known as the Black Pupil Ghostly Curse."

Li Luo then spoke up. "Guardian General Tingyue, can you temporarily stop moving?"

Li Tingyue's cheeks twitched as she asked dryly. "Grand Commander Li Luo. What is the meaning of this? Do you suspect that we have been corrupted as well?" Li Foluo waved his hand and retreated with Li Hongyou and the rest of them.

Li Luo sighed as water resonant power condensed within his hand, forming a water mirror and placing it before Li Tingyue's squad. It reflected their faces clearly.

"Guardian General Tingyue, those who've been affected by this venomous curse will have their pupils gradually expand until their eyeballs have been completely filled by it. Once they fully transform into black colored eyes, they would end up in a state similar to Grand Commander Wen Xuan, their minds fully corrupted. Whilst the rest of you have not been affected as severely as her, you've also been affected."

Li Tingyue stared blankly at the water mirror. Her fair cheeks were mirrored clearly as she stared firmly into her own eyes. After a few moments, a look of horror emerged from within her.

This was because she could see that her own black pupils had already increased in size.

A bonechilling sensation rushed through her body from top to bottom.
