Chapter 1306: Faceless Other King

Abyssal City, City Center. Deep in the Royal Palace.

In a quiet courtyard, the black robed Qin Jiujie was standing with his hands behind his back. He too was looking towards the sky and the never ending black meteor shower. He remained expressionless as he watched.

"Descending Devil Tide." He murmured to himself.

This signified that the World End's River Treasure Domain would open soon as well. The World End's River Region's most dangerous and chaotic period was about to begin.

Qin Jiujie fell silent in thought for a while before a serving maid respectfully walked up, passing him a cup of tea which he picked up casually. He immediately narrowed his eyes as he turned his head towards the maid who had served him for many years.

She possessed a delicate prettiness but under Qin Jiujie's pressure filled gaze, her expression turned pale as her body shuddered. She didn't understand why Qin Jiujie was acting this way.

Qin Jiujie glared at her as he indifferently spoke. "Since you're already here, why bother with these little games?"

As his words sounded out, the serving maid stopped trembling as she lightly smiled. A strange scene occurred where her once exquisite features of her face began to disappear one after another.

In a few moments, the originally charming maid had turned into a faceless individual.

At the same time, her aura had turned incredibly gloomy.

"It's been a while, Qin Jiujie." Her voice was neutral, neither male nor female and yet also seemingly illusory and hard to perceive. At the same time, it possessed a power of its own and as this power spread, portraits hung within the stone pavilion began to have its faces erased.

"As expected of one of the Origin Reversion Institute's Thirteen Kings, the Faceless Other King. Your Myriad Transformations allow you to be incredibly elusive and hard to sense. If not for this cup of tea, I wouldn't have known you were here." Qin Jiujie continued to stare at the faceless individual as a trace of fear flashed through his eyes as he enunciated his words. The person before him was from an organization that struck fear even in those from Heavenly Emperor powers. The Origin Reversion Institute was the world's most ancient organization and even the Academic Federation could not compare. Furthermore they were extremely mysterious and thus few knew about them.

However their true strength was undoubtedly terrifying.

Within the long annals of history, there were countless Heavenly Emperor powers that had been subverted by them.

Even Qin Jiujie only knew bits and pieces of information about them. For example, the highest body of power within the Origin Reversion Institute was known as the Honored Lord Courtyard.

All who qualified to be a part of it were Heavenly Emperors.

As to just how many of them there were, no one knew. However these Honored Lords rarely appeared in person. Thus those who managed the daily coming and goings of the organization were the Thirteen Other Kings.

The Faceless Other King was precisely one of them.

Qin Jiujie's relationship with the Origin Reversion Institute went back even further than anyone would have ever imagined. The truth was that when he was still in the Duke stage, the only reason he was able to break into the King stage was partly due to the cooperation he had with the Origin Reversion Institute!

"It is no wonder why you took the initiative to reach out to me. It looks like Li Jingzhe has reached the Quasi-Triple Crown stage and that has cast a shadow over you." The Faceless Other King's face twitched as its voice drifted out.

"Li Jingzhe, as his name suggests, is good at lying low without making a sound. The moment he acts, he creates a furor that everyone notices. Ever since Li Taixuan was chased away and after the Lineage chiefs fought, he had sequestered himself within Dragon Fang Mountain for decades. As a result, everyone thought he had become disheartened and chose to isolate himself. Who would have thought that the moment he took action, he had already reached the Quasi-Triple Crown stage? However this is not bad news either. In a few more decades he might even have become a Heavenly Emperor. At that point your Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin would be in trouble. Don't be fooled by his lawful demeanor. When he was younger, he was vengeful and acted ruthlessly. I'm afraid he might be at death's door. The moment something happens to Heavenly Emperor Qin, your bloodline will undoubtedly decline. At that point in time, your thousand year old foundations can only be given away as you struggle to protect even yourself."

Qin Jiujie shattered the teacup in his hand as the fragments and tea were turned into nothingness. He was no longer calm and his expression had turned grim and his heart began to palpitate. The fact was that the Faceless Other King's words had struck at the greatest insecurities of his heart.

Ancestor Heavenly Emperor Qin's condition was something that caused a sense of unease amongst those that ruled the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin.

In the shadow world, there would be an apocalyptic war that would break out once every long while. The intention was to cover the entire world with corruption and humanity christened this battle of existence the Origin Reversion War. The truth of the matter was in the name itself. If they lost, everything would revert back to its origin, nothingness.

It was also said that this was how the name of the Origin Reversion Institute came about.

The Yin Yang Demon Emperor might have a cliched and almost crude title that was laughable, but Qin Jiujie was unable to do so. Instead he felt abject terror. This Yin Yang Demon Emperor was after all one of the strongest amongst the Others. From ancient times, there were countless Kings who had fallen to him.

Even Ancestor Heavenly Emperor Qin had injured his source origin whilst fighting it.

Thus even though the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin seemed strong on the surface, it was concealing its true state. On the contrary, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li was on the ascent, especially since Li Jingzhe had reached the Quasi-Triple Crown stage. Qin Jiujie sighed deeply. "This is why I've sought you out." "Qin Jiujie, do you want us to help you deal with Li Jingzhe? Keke. The Origin Reversion Institute is not some hired thug of yours." The Faceless Other King mocked.

"Perhaps you can choose to truly enter the Origin Reversion Institute. With your strength, you can become an Other King and most importantly, you've already experienced for yourself the power we hold. If you wish to go further down the path of cultivation and even reach the Heavenly Emperor stage, you will need our help." The Faceless Other King's words were like the temptations of the devil. Qin Jiujie sunk into deep thought. "Now is not the time."

"If you get rid of Li Jingzhe, the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent will descend into chaos and isn't that what the Origin Reversion Institute wishes for? It would make it easier to carry out your plans." "Qin Jiujie, he is a Quasi-Triple Crown King. Even if we were to join hands, I'm afraid we wouldn't be his match. You've even invited someone from the Imperial Beast Hall huh..." The Faceless Other King spoke with some surprise.

However he paused only briefly before continuing. "However, the price is simply not enough."

Qin Jiujie frowned as he paused for a few moments before speaking indifferently. "Well I'd like to gift you a piece of news as well."

"What?"

Qin Jiujie's calm voice rang out. "The Dragon's Fang Lineage's Li Luo possesses the Genesis Seed." "Oh?!"

The previously vacant face of the Faceless Other King seemed to show an expression of excitement upon hearing this.
