A Story of Evil

Chapter 1: The End

Chapter 1: The End

"Fuck. Why won't they just leave me alone."

Sol was bleeding from his forehead down. There were third degree burns on his shoulders and legs - relieving the pain merely through forcing his mind to think of other matters.

It stinged. A lot. Like he was being burned all over again. Yet he dared not scream nor make any sound. For if he did, he knew that he'd be toast. Literally.

"Come out you powerless bastard! I need to get my score up on those charts!" Blaze said, burning everything in sight using his fire spells.

"Over my dead body." Sol thought to himself. A comment that seemed to get true soon enough.

Around the area where Blaze stepped on, there were other dead Titans. All of them being killed by the same person who was looking for Sol. They had different powers and abilities, with each being refined and trained for the Culling but, because of an unexpected event, they weren't able to be any match for Blaze.

"To think his flame would upgrade right in the middle of my trap. Dammit, this wasn't even part of the variables." Sol was hiding within a basement that many of the Titans were not aware of. They didn't need to know such a terrain because, there was no benefit in such.

Titans from other Domains were proud of their powers and abilities. They would always want these to shine in the Culling and, show to the Domains all the fruit of their endless hard work. They would fight head on and use multiple tactics. But none of it ever included hiding.

But Sol knew better. If he wanted to survive the Culling, he needed know how the terrain worked. He needed all of the hiding places he could get his hands on.

"I didn't spend all my childhood memorizing the fucking maps just to get my ass kicked this early." He furthered, hearing the footsteps get closer.

"The moment I recognize your heat signature, you're dead. You hear me? DEAD!" The black flames of Blaze raged around the area. One could almost hear souls howling through them and they probably were. After all, these were the same flames that wiped out the surrounding Titans in an instant.

"You dare mock me? You dare lay me in the middle of this stupid trap! Do you think I'm stupid?"

"This silver-spooned idiot just keeps yapping. Can't a dying guy get some peace and quiet around here?" Sol thought to himself as he measured his own breathing that only got weaker.

The walls around him were shaking. Air was also running thin as his breathing apparatus also got burnt by Blaze earlier on. The moment he leaves the basement, he would surely be found. But the longer he stayed there, he also had higher chances of suffocating to death.

"Oh god I'm really going to die aren't I?" Sol commented; squeezing out some nasty violet liquid from a damp cloth. He had other plans for it but, with the situation he was in, there was no other choice but to use it.

"I SAID COME OUT!" Blaze, staying true to his name, released another burst of black flames; hoping to smoke out his enemy.

But it was no use, Sol had everything planned out and his location was far below the mixing height. Preventing the smoke from ever reaching him. Still, there was only a single option left for him to take.

"I never thought I'd hate my life more than I do right now." Sol took out his dagger, a weapon which was never used to kill. Except for that moment that is.

He dipped the tip of his weapon on the extracted liquid. Feeling a bit nervous as he went through the whole process. And, with one final breath of courage, Sol commented:

"Well I guess it's time to die."

He stabbed his arm with the dagger muffling his own scream by biting on another cloth. His veins immediately absorbed the liquid and the reaction came in a split-second interval. With an overwhelming amount of pain that jolted all over his body.

The boy squirmed and banged his head on the wall. Sol could feel his veins throb as he saw his whole life flashing before his eyes. It was like his brain was on an automatic mode, thinking only of the things it wanted and, disregarding the danger that was Blaze.

The world slowly dimmed out and all the words shouted by Blaze simply turned into muffled screams at that point. Even at that final moment, with all the pain he was experiencing, Sol was still able to smile.

"You're not gonna get points from me." Were the last words that came out of his mouth as everything turned to darkness.
