Chapter 192: Chapter 128 This is not the Immortal Realm (Seeking recommendation votes, seeking monthly votes)_2
Hailbo took it down and cradled it in his palm, where the little fellow chirped cheerfully and waved its tiny hands.
“Heh.”
Hailbo laughed and placed it on his shoulder, only to hear a voice coming from behind the archway: “That’s a communication mushroom, the latest creation of Miss Sheila, a small sprite.”
“You can take one with you, if you need to talk about something, just use that.”
The derivatives of Lilith are fairies and sprites, while these mushrooms are not fairies, they can only be called small sprites.
Sprite: A soulless, artificial intelligence-like puppet
Fairy: An awakened creature with intelligence, capable of speech like an animal
Fairy: Possesses the ability to transform into a humanoid form, a common Miracle Troop Type
High-ranking Fairy: Awakened with exclusive bloodline magic, equivalent to an Extraordinary Miracle Troop Type
“You are…”
Hailbo saw the newcomer; it was the Forest Fairy.
Billy: I am Billy, you jackass!!!
“Billy.”
Finally introducing himself properly, Hailbo quickly bowed, saying, “Nice to meet you, Lord Billy.”
Billy: This, this kid, he called me by my name, he actually called me by my name!
“Lord Billy is also known as the Forest Fairy,” meanwhile, Cat Yiyi added: “That’s a nickname bestowed by His Majesty Himself.”
“Bestowed by His Majesty Himself!!”
Hailbo hadn’t expected such an important figure, so he bowed again, and Ina and the Silly Big Guy beside him also bent over: “Greetings, Lord Forest Fairy!”
Billy: I…
“Ahem.”
Billy forced himself to calm down: “Follow, follow me. I’ll show you the way.”
I wonder if the title Forest Fairy contains any deeper meaning?
Like philosophy?
“Rustle rustle.”
Under Billy’s guidance, they passed through the archway.
Normally, everyone would train in the forest, so even today, after more than twenty days, it was Hailbo’s first visit to this lake.
“Wow~~”
Hailbo was mentally prepared for Yatun to be the legendary fairyland.
But no matter how prepared he was, after all, being just an ordinary person, Hailbo’s imagination was nowhere near enough to sustain such a dreamy realm.
“It’s beautiful, so beautiful.”
The lake emitted a quiet glow, mushrooms that could run and jump, leaves fluttering in the air only to quickly fold into a ‘little paper person’, covering its mouth and snickering in secret.
Along the lakeside, a little red flower, teased by its companions, got angry and uprooted itself from the soil, then trudged to an open space and sat down!
It crossed its arms, tossed its head, as if to say: ‘I can do just fine by myself!’
“Pffffhahaha.”
Hailbo couldn’t help it and burst out laughing.
There were also the fish in the lake and the swaying aquatic plants; they all seemed as if they were alive.
The three of them tread carefully, afraid to step on these little creatures.
“Don’t worry.”
Billy said: “Although the sprites look lifelike, they are not truly alive, so even if you break them into a million pieces, they can be restored with fairy magic.”
“As for the fairies, you don’t have to worry about them.”
Billy indicated that these fairies were very clever; not to mention accidentally stepping on them, even if you went out of your way to catch them, you’d still end up being outwitted.
“Whew~”
While they were talking, a half-eaten fruit was thrown at Hailbo from afar.
“Snap!”
Billy caught it.
“Eh?”
Hailbo and Ina were startled, only to see Billy pointing at a tree in the distance: “Don’t be naughty, little monkeys.”
“Chatter chatter chatter.”
That big tree was home to a troop of monkeys, among which the Monkey King had become a high-ranking fairy.
The Monkey King naturally behaved with the steadiness of an elder human, but he had many children whose monkey natures were hard to change, so they liked to tease passersby.
Once, they did not notice that the one fishing was Bailuo and actually hurled a fruit at him.
Though it could not possibly hit Bailuo, that very night, those mischievous little fellows still had their bottoms thrashed by the Monkey King.
“Up ahead, that’s our Tree Elf village.”
Billy, “But to go there, you have to follow the rules, you can’t run around willy-nilly, got it?”
Deep in the forest of the Tree Elves lay the Tree of Life and the luminous Lake Avalon.
That is the true entrance to Yatun, or rather, the real Yatun.
The three of them, now merely prospective citizens, were not yet privileged to know of the existence of Avalon and the Tree of Life, but being allowed to attend the wedding was already a royal favor.
“Dingling dingling.”
Walking under the pristine, bell-like Phoenix-tail Orchids, the crisp tinkling sounds echoed around them like delightful music, uplifting spirits.
To both sides, one treehouse after another gave the trio an unprecedented visual impact.
A small door was on the main trunk of each large tree, in front of which lay a stone path and a small courtyard enclosing the treehouse, with the yard full of various flowers and unnameable plants.
Treehouses typically had two levels, besides the first floor, there were two more rooms at the front and back, resembling captain’s cabins.
They were two rectangular rooms with windows made of wood and glass on both sides, facing the path ahead.
The glass reflected a warm orange light, and the residents inside, seeming to have noticed the outsiders, were peering out the windows at them.
“So beautiful!”
When Tree Elves venture out, they generally wear masks, including Billy.
Ina had seen the breathtakingly beautiful Tree Elf men and women who stood by Bailuo when they first met, but for Hailbo, this was his first encounter.
“They’re like fairy women…”
The word ‘fairy women’ also came from the stories of Hailbo’s mother, and presumably meant holy female Heroic Spirits.
“Thank you for your compliment.”
“However, they are not fairy women,” Billy said, “We are Tree Elves, a unique race found only in Yatun.”
Before long, the group passed through the Tree Elf forest.
Then, they saw the magnificent castle that Lilith had built for Bailuo.
“…”
They had thought their previous experiences were already dreamlike enough.
But only upon seeing the castle did they realize that this was the abode of the King of the fairytale kingdom.
The castle, no, it couldn’t really be called a castle.
The castle was just a part of it, with much more being the town around the castle.
It had three layers of walls.
The first layer was bordered by a moat, with the inner part being the dwellings of the Fairies.
The Fairy Clan’s population had exploded, reaching nearly 4000 in number, but most of them could not become Fairies, remaining but small fairies.
The true Fairies numbered just over 800.
Excluding the Aquatic Tribe, Feathered Tribe, and Fluffy Tribe, there were about 500 left.
Along with their kin, nearly 2000 small fairies lived within the first layer of the castle.
Bailuo wanted to make the castle a fairytale kingdom, just like the town in the animated movie ‘Kung Fu Panda’ he had once seen.
Inside the second wall lived Yatun vassals and their families.
These vassals included the original Yatun Clan, the Tree Elf Race, and some of the High-ranking Fairies.
Owing to family connections, almost all the Yatun Clan lived here.
But this was only temporary. Once the Avalon World stabilized, Bailuo planned to move everyone to that ideal land far from the mundane world.
According to Uncle’s plan, Avalon would become Inner Yatun, beyond the world of mortals.
And Yatun Island would slowly transform into a place for the common folk to live.
Residents of Utopia, as rulers, would govern the common folk and select talented individuals from among them to bring into Avalon, to become part of the People of Yatun.
“Immortal Realm…”
“Heh.”
Billy chuckled, “This is not the Immortal Realm. The real Immortal Realm, you’ll see in a bit.”
Billy had visited the Avalon World and seen its dreamy scenery, his horizons greatly broadened; he had already become largely immune to the beauty of the mundane.
The saying “used to the ocean, one finds a river not magnificent; apart from the Witch Mountain, clouds elsewhere aren’t seen as marvelous” probably describes this feeling.
