"Aerodactyl is unable to continue! The winner is Alexander Drake!" The referee said ending the match officially. Vulcan held it's head high proudly until I recalled it and stored it's ball on my belt. Roxanne let out a breath of air and regained her composure before walking across the field to me. "It would seem that your threat level was miscalculated. While your Pupitar Gaia is close to the top of the fourth badge in power that Entei of yours is clearly well into the fifth badge level. Even more was that it knew how to use solar beam which was super effective against nearly any pokemon I could use as a gym leader."-
"My loss is well deserved given these facts though I admit I had hoped to put up more of a fight. None the less you have proven your skill as a trainer so it is my great honor to present the four star stone badge. As is tradition I will also give you the choice of a rock tomb tm or pure money as your prize for victory." She said seriously. "I think I'll go with the tm since it'll be more useful in the long run." I said with a friendly smile.-
"Very well you may show the badge to the clerk at the front and they will see you receive your prize. I hope to face you with my true team in the future Mr. Drake , should you reach that level." she said before walking away. 'If nothing else she is professional at least.' I thought as I walked out of the field to the front of the gym and showed the clerk my badge before saying what I chose. The clerk nodded before opening a drawer next to her with a key and taking out a disc with a brown hue to it.-
I placed the tm into my bag next to the other one I had before leaving the gym since I needed to make my way to to pokecenter to get Gaia looked at. This is the most damaged she has ever been so despite my discomfort the Joy clan was the best bet to get her healed up in good time. My own healing ability was very limited in what it can do after all. I was honestly expecting to hear shouting about a thief after leaving the gym but there was nothing.-
'Maybe I prevented it by capturing the grunt in the forest previously.' I thought before shrugging and making my way to the pokemon center. A nifty fact was that the center had to give priority to trainers coming from a gym battle since they were guaranteed to have injured pokemon most of the time. In fact after a trainer makes an appointment with the gym the center also gets a notification to expect a patient at around that date and time. It was all a very efficient system that kept the center from being in a constant state of panic over the trainers coming in with injured pokemon.-
I walked into the building calmly while ignoring the looks I got and approached the Joy clan member manning the intake desk. "Alexander Drake , I'm coming from my gym challenge with an injured pokemon." I said calmly when she looked up at me. "We have been expecting you Mr. Drake please follow me." she said calmly and stood up before leading me to an empty room medical room. "Please wait here and a doctor will be with you momentarily." she said before leaving.-
'About as I expected to be treated so this works just fine.' I thought after she left and waited for the doctor patiently. It really was only a moment as she said as within two minutes another member of the joy clan came in wearing a white coat. If I didn't know better I would have thought it was the same person but there were minute differences. "According to the records you would be here to have both your Entei and Pupitar treated correct?" she asked and I shook my head. "Vulcan did not take any hits so only Gaia needs treatment." I clarified.-
She seemed taken back by this but didn't argue with me "Release the one named Gaia here on this examination bed." she said pointing at the medical bed. I did as I was told and Gaia appeared on the bed immediately getting blood on the white covering on the bed. "Hmmm , well the good news is that is all appears to be surface level injuries like those consistent with a standard pokemon battle so if the test comes back negative for internal damage she will only need to take it easy for a week or so before she should be good to train again." the Joy member said after looking Gaia over carefully.-
She then took out a strange looking silver box from a nearby cabinet and set it on top of Gaia's carapace carefully before turning a few dials on it's front before hitting a button. "WUB WUB WUB!" three audible pulses came from the device followed by a loud "DING!" that told the Joy clan something apparently since she looked at the little screen on the device. "Just as I thought she only has surface level injuries and will be fine so long as she rests well. If there is nothing else you may see yourself out." she said while cleaning the device and putting it away.-
I balled Gaia again and left after that since I no longer needed to be here. I made my way towards the Devon corp headquarters with that taken care of to see about my transportation when I heard a shout. "THIEF! GIVE ME BACK MY GOODS!" it said and I sighed before heading in that direction. I had hoped to have prevented this event from happening with my actions previously but apparently the grunt who stole the stuff successfully in the city was different from the grunt in the forest.-
"Where the hell is the Jenny clan when they have something that actually required their attention happens?" I muttered when I saw the same dude with a green suit as in the forest pacing worriedly at the edge of town. The man looked like he had been saved when he spotted me and rushed over. "You are the kind trainer from the forest earlier , please help me recover my goods from that thief! If you hurry you should be able to catch up to him!" the man begged desperately.-
"Fine , stay here." I commanded and the man nodded hurriedly before I took off sprinting. If it was like the game then the grunt had ran straight into the literal one spot that could trap them. My sprint was less because I intended to chase the stupid bastard and more to show that I LOOKED like I was going to. Appearances were key in situations like this where reputation and benefits hinged on specific circumstances. Absolutely nothing decided that it wanted to get between me and where I wanted to go. It should be kept in mind that with my current stats I was a bit over superhuman and so I was moving very fast.
