A random pokemon journey

Cave

Cave

Despite this place being perfect for fire type pokemon there was not a single mon to be seen anywhere. 'This bothers me , it bothers me a lot.' I thought as I suddenly felt like maybe I shouldn't go deeper into the cave. 'Wait why do I not want to go deeper into the cave?' I pondered as I stiffened at the conflicting thought. I was well aware that I was not some easily frightened idiot so I noticed there was something wrong with my thoughts immediately. Retreat from a place without any identifiable danger , why?-

It wasn't even like my instincts were warning me or anything like that but that for some reason my mind was telling me to leave without any reason. 'Perhaps there is a psychic factor involved?' I theorized and shielded my head with aura and I instantly felt a foreign energy sneakily trying to enter. "They chose the wrong motherfucker to try this shit on." I said with a grin as my pokemon looked at me questioningly. "There's something in here releasing weak psychic type energy to try and get us to leave. You all are too strong to probably feel it but I am a human so it managed to get into my head which is how I noticed it." I explained and my team collectively scoffed.-

I was bold and headstrong so fleeing like a coward clashed heavily with me and they all knew it. "Lets see what we can shake up in this place and if we are lucky the owner of this power is strong enough to give a decent challenge." I said confidently at the time but would come to realize that I jinxed it. The inside of the cave was most comprised of the same red volcanic rock that was prevalent near MT. Chimney. -

There was also nearly a dozen grade two firestones throughout the cave that I ignored since it was wasteful to take them now. Firestones like most evolution stones grew in energy rich environments with that type of energy so while they were grade two at the moment they could definitely make it to grade three if they were left alone for a few more months. It became clear that this was a firestone mine as there was no other way so many would be near each other without one devouring the energy of the others.-

The deeper we went into the cave the stronger the psychic energy became and the more I had to passively expend my aura to keep it out of my head. I also noticed gouges missing from the rock walls caused by what looked like wide blunt jaws. Something about the marks tickled the back of my mind but I for the life of me couldn't figure out why. Moving forward I managed to collect a mid tier grade three firestone and even a chunk of diamond the size of my fist that Gaia called dibs on.-

I could only shrug at that as only a pokemon would want such a huge diamond to eat. The temperature of the cave grew more and more the deeper we went until I discovered why. At the end was a literal lake of fire as well as a huge red looking object that I didn't even need the system to identify. It was a scale from Groudon that I assumed had gotten here in the same way the Kyogre fang got in that cave I found previously. For good measure though I used the system to pull up a description of the thing just to be sure.

[Item name: Groudon scale

Grade: Relic

Description: An ancient scale once belonging to the land god Groudon that was lost in one of it's many fights with the sea god Kyogre. Due to the way it was lost this tooth still bears a fragment of it's previous owners power over the lands and so flows magma forevermore. The power in this scale allows any fire type power to be mastered at an accelerated pace. Any magma taken directly from this scale will contain dense fire type energy and is a massively beneficial supplement for fire type pokemon. This scales power has been partially drained by an external force.]

The description was nearly identical to the one I got for the tooth previously but this time there was an extra sentence that gave me an ominous feeling. 'This scales power has been partially drained by an external force? What external force?' I ponder with furrowed brows before noticing the magma near the shore of the lake bulging upwards. "Get back!" I yelled and retreated from that area with my team in an instant. The bulge in the magma grew bigger and bigger until it started to slip off the thing making it visible and I felt very nervous as I finally recognized why those gouges seemed familiar.-

There slowly wading out of the magma was a small house sized creature with a rusty brown body with red spots and four legs that ended in glowing steel crosses for feet. The head was covered in the same steel with two flat blunt horns at the top pointed to either side and a wide blunt mouth. Two glowing orange eyes glared at me and my team in a very unfriendly manner as I muttered the name of the species nervously , "Heatran!"-

This was another legendary species of pokemon similar to Entei's in that they were apparently born directly from volcanic conditions , I'm not an expert though so I am not entire sure of the specifics. That was however where the similarities ended as in basically every single way the Heatran species was superior to the Entei species. The exception was that the Entei species was considerably faster and more mobile. Heatran were dual fire and steel type pokemon and were easily double to triple the size of Entei with powerful innate stats that while not dwarfing an Entei's were considerably better.-

It was at this time that the system showed me the hidden objective and any hope of a peaceful interaction was strangled {SURVIVE!(Optional)}. "Fuck! Scatter!" I yelled right when the legendary opened it's mouth and a wave of stone shot out towards us. Checking the level of the Heatran I understood why the system said survive instead of defeat it as the legendary was level ninety eight. This was an elite level legendary pokemon while we were barely at the ace trainer level as a whole. Victory while possible would take either a miracle or serious sacrifice on our part.-

The wave of stone rolled over the spot we were at previously and shattered the ground effortlessly leaving a deep crater. "Gaia Sand bomb! Rune thundershock! Vulcan leverage your sped to hit it and run! Yani retreat to me!" I barked out my orders and my team moved to obey without hesitation despite the suppression that the Heatran was putting on us. The Heatrans eyes flickered between each of us coldly before it moved. With a slam of it's feet two plumes of lava shot up from either side of it and intercepted both Gaia's and Runes attacks while Vulcan blurred into view as it dropped a heavy stomp on the Heatrans back.
