A random pokemon journey

I fiddled with the new piece of tech on my wrist for a while after buying it before my pokemon in their balls let me know through our bond that they wanted out. At that point I headed for the city exit since unless I wanted to rent out a whole training area again I'd definitely get a huge fine for releasing them in the city. Rune and Gaia were both massive as royal pokemon and besides Hades the rest were much too large to scoot under the laws regulation.-

The law was quite clear that anything bigger than a person wasn't allowed to be released within a city with the exceptions on if it was being used to travel or it was an emergency. The Jenny watching the gate to the city eyed me warily as I passed through to route 218. The outside of the city was a forested area that gave way to a stretch of ocean that upon crossing took one to Jubilife city after going through a small bit of forest. I obviously didn't go that far but rather just went to the distance that would allow me to release my pokemon without incurring a fine.-

"Sorry about that guys, almost forgot that you've all been stuck in your balls for the last two weeks with only short breaks to eat. Feel free to stretch your legs but no sparring since we are still pretty close to the city." I said after letting my pokemon out. Vulcan wasted no time at all dashing off to who knows where while Gaia just sat down lazily on the ground that sank in a little under her extremely great weight. Yani wandered off to go foraging for plants and Rune immediately flew off to the sea to try and hunt some water pokemon.

The not so little one followed Rune and Tank just sort of fluttered about absentmindedly. "Tar Ty Tar Ran Rani?" Gaia asked in a deep rumbling voice. "I doubt it, I'm not running the circuit so unless they are battle junkies I don't think the leaders will battle us." I said honestly. "Tyranitar." she said with a huff. I chuckled at that as she had more or less just said that it was disappointing to hear that. I suppose I couldn't blame her for thinking that after spending the last half a year doing nothing for the most part.-

I'm sure most of my team was eager to get back to training seriously instead of merely lazing about and working on their moves. Honestly speaking they were already more or less at the champion level as far as move mastery went if my glimpse at Stevens team told me anything so all they needed was the experience to get there and they'd be golden. That was unfortunately also where a problem came in, wild pokemon who could actually give them a run for their money weren't exactly common.-

Getting trainers at this level to battle us as well was also not such an easy thing to accomplish without special circumstances. It should be pointed out that any elite level or higher pokemon was a living disaster capable of rearranging a wide area if it went all out. This naturally was something the league was aware of and put in place laws to stop trainer who commanded these pokemon from battling whenever they wanted to. If you were in the wild nobody gave a shit but the chances of actually running into another trainer out there was understandably miniscule.-

The procedure for an elite or higher battle was that first you needed to find a willing opponent, then you needed to go to an elite designated arena and finally you needed to have a barrier put up to stop attacks from spreading beyond the arena. You miss any of these and that battle simply wasn't going to happen unless you left the city. It was annoying to deal with but logical so I couldn't really complain without sounding spoilt. I busted out my portable camp and got to work prepping dinner after that short conversation with Gaia and though it was a simple meat, herb and veggie stew I put my full effort into this endeavor.-

Naturally the pot I used for this cook was more accurately named a cauldron due to the sheer size of it that almost didn't even fit inside the mouth of my bag. And I wasn't even using just one of these things either but four since I was cooking for all of my pokemon after all. The only one who wouldn't be partaking in this food would be Tank who I prepared and fruit and veggie salad since his species was herbivorous.-

Preparing the stew was easy as I first added the meat cut up into chunks alongside cleaned and diced vegetables. I let that cook a bit to render out the oil while adding some color to the veggies. I then added clean water to the pots and scooped out the excess floating oil from the surface of the water while adding salt peeper and some frozen stock cubes I had made previously. I let the mixture simmer for a while until it started bubbling at which point i lowered the heat and added the sachet of herbs to each pot for the flavor.-

I then added some starch and let the whole thing cook down into a thick hearty stew that I kept nice and warm to let the flavors mingle. While that happened I started going through the exercises for my hand to hand skill since while I was happy with my spear I had to admit it wasn't exactly great for capturing people without much damage. Not to say it couldn't be done but it was much harder than say dislocating a dudes arms or choking them till they passed out. Hand to hand covered these things so if I was going to try and sell the image that I mellowed out a little I should at least get a little good at it.-

Plus it helped that I knew there would be cases when i had to leave my spear at the door so being nearly defenseless in those times could be avoided with this skill. To be fair I was never truly defenseless so long as I had my aura as if push came to shove I could totally enhance my body temporarily and go out swinging. If I had more aura I could even use pokemon moves but that was such a massively energy expensive thing that throwing hands was just that much more efficient.
