A random pokemon journey

Ambush and repercussions

Ambush and repercussions

The area after Fortree in Hoenn was amongst the most unique as it was the lushest place and at the same time the wettest. Between Fortree and the next major city Lilycove was a sort of wild area with ill kept pathways and the perfect conditions to rain almost constantly. Needless to say the only one of my pokemon having a good time was the little one. Even Hades that was unbothered by external stimulus got annoyed with the rain and insisted on getting balled. Vulcan bit the bullet and was the only strong pokemon traveling next to me as all my others wanted nothing to do with the rainy area.-

The little one was happy as a clam in the rain and even went out of it's way to snap up the drops in front of it's face to amuse itself. Vulcan and I were instead soaked through but ignored it to keep a vigilant eye on the surroundings. Rain was a particularly harsh type of weather for dealing with assassins in as it had a really bad habit of muddling ones senses. Smells become faint and distorted. -

The water running down the face and the many flashes of light off the falling drops made it hard to focus on any area properly unless it seriously stood out. Finally of course the sound of the water hitting the ground was damn near deafening as it overcame almost all other sounds. All of this came together to mean that rain was an assassins best friend with some likely even specializing in using it to their advantage. While the little one was oblivious to the danger Vulcan and I were not and bordered on paranoia. For good reason too as the path we took was littered in traps and hidden assassins.-

I kept a firm flow of aura just under my skin cautiously so when a bullet came out of nowhere and struck me in the forehead I wasn't killed like what may have happened otherwise. Vulcan moved the instant the sound of the gun going off reached us and blurred through the would be assassin. Despite my aura keeping me alive by stopping the bullet my head was still ringing from the impact alone and the spot the bullet hit was bleeding as my aura was under my skin and so my skin had still been split open.-

By the way when I said Vulcan went through the person I meant it very literally as it had extreme speeded into the person and did not stop which reduced them to a bloody mess that was getting washed off Vulcan in the rain. The little one thought the gunshot was far away thunder and thus not bothered by it but was fussing over me since I had stumbled and was bleeding. Before it could get dragged into this matter for whatever reason I returned it to it's ball. In the same moment I released the rest of my team that moved to protect me or hunt down anyone else nearby.-

Hades was in it's largest form with dozens of red eyes balefully scanning for even a whiff of human life to snuff out. Gaia was towering over me protectively and Yani was treating my forehead wound while I remained vigilant. Moments later all hell broke loose as Hades found another would be assassin and began tearing them apart. This was the last straw for the assassins who were clearly working together as five of them from various positions began to open fire on us likely in an attempt to save the screaming person Hades had.-

All they succeeded in doing however was pushing even further off the deep end as Hades started releasing moves at the surrounds without care for anything that might get caught in the crossfire so long as it killed the attackers. And oh was there a lot of collateral damage , trees , grass , wild pokemon nearby all got hit by these wild attacks and suffered for it. Everything in sight got transformed into a crater ridden disaster zone with only my team being unscathed. The assassins were killed though as when they gave away their positions by trying to escape the wild attacks Rune and Vulcan picked them off.-

It was a mess to say the least and needless to say Birch was less than pleased when I called it in. He was especially unhappy when I told him exactly how close to death I had actually gotten with the headshot I took. The Joy clan was entirely to blame for this situation as that single crones actions had painted a very tempting target on my back. Every single body I drop as a result of these people coming to claim that bounty was on them and I made sure Birch and the whole league knew it.-

It was a nasty stain on the clans record and not one that could get swept under the rug either as the amount of life lost as a result was far too big for that. This one incident alone resulted in nearly twenty people getting killed after their ambush failed horrifically. Add on any future assassins and the pile of bodies that this single stain on their reputation will leave behind will haunt them for quite some time unless something big happens to distract everyone away from it.-

This incident was so bad that more than a few groups that would normally pander to the clan had distanced themselves to keep the situation from blowing to them by association. It was a sting that the entire clan felt in Hoenn. The regional Matriarch of the clan even went as far as to issue a public statement about how the clan had exiled the one responsible for causing this whole mess in an attempt to repair the clans public image. I also learned that the reason for the exile rather than the execution of the old crone was because she was the Matriarchs younger sister.-

Wasn't that a real fucked up fact in and of itself? The person who was at the head of the entire Joy clan in Hoenn was the older sister of the Joy responsible for this mess. I didn't need to try and ruin the clans reputation when that little fact got out as the public was in outrage. 'The sins of family weigh the most after all.' I thought fairly amused as I watched this clan with a long history suffer in the court of public opinion.-

Not to say I wasn't still planning on killing the crone who caused this mess to begin with once I eventually got to Sinnoh because that was still very much on the agenda. Perhaps if I am lucky she may even kill herself out of guilt for the suffering she created but she seemed like a stubborn old bat so I doubted it. No , like usual I imagined that she would probably do what everyone seems to do when things don't go well for them now days and blame me. 'It's all his fault! if he didn't exist!' And so on as long as it didn't involve blaming themselves. It was stupid and pointless.
