A President's Out-of-Body Experience

Chapter 95

Extra 3

Having driven sports cars for so many years, Renzi was able to keep up with following Gu Xiaoshan’s car. Especially when Gu Xiaoshan had asked the chauffeur to drive a little slower, so that Renzi would not be so anxious. Safe driving was still the most important.

Renzi watched Gu Xiaoshan’s car stopped in front of his apartment. Gu Xiaoshan exited the car and entered the building. Renzi too stopped his car downstairs. He lifted his head and saw the light of the penthouse apartment turn on, and it felt as though there too was a glowing lamp in his heart.

A few minutes later, Renzi’s phone rang. It was a call from Gu Xiaoshan.

Renzi answered the call a little guiltily, “Hello? Hubby?”

A fond amusement could be heard in Gu Xiaoshan’s voice. “Mn. What are you doing?”

“I— I uh,” Renzi thought about it. “I’m at home lying on my bed.”

“Oh.” Gu Xiaoshan’s tone was light, “Then rest well, and sleep early. You sound tired recently.”

“Is it?” Renzi thought that it must be his dieting that made him tired. “Then what are you doing now?”

Gu Xiaoshan was standing by his window and looking down at the car parked downstairs. He laughed, “I’m missing you.”

“... Ah... Mn, I miss you too.” Renzi felt that he was extremely useless. Having been together with Gu Xiaoshan for so long already, yet he still blushed so easily when he flirted with him.

“Oh right,” Gu Xiaoshan spoke. “Why is that we absolutely cannot meet before our wedding?”

Actually, it was not an absolute thing. Renzi only wanted to present himself in the best possible image when he saw Gu Xiaoshan again.

However, in this situation, Renzi could not tell the truth. Out of habit, he lay the blame with his dad, “My dad said it.”

“Mn, sure, if the elder likes it.” Gu Xiaoshan did not talk anymore, “I’m also going to bed. You sleep earlier as well, it’s not good to sleep too late.”

Gu Xiaoshan ended the call, and switched the light off. Renzi saw that the light went off, then started his car and headed home.

Gu Xiaoshan had called to confirm if Renzi would come up or not. Since he found out that Renzi would not meet him, he ended the conversation early, so that Renzi could quickly head home. It was not good to be out alone so late at night. Mu Chutong even laughed at him for being overprotective of Renzi, but he could too answer back sarcastically, due to Jiu Man sending Mu Chutong to work in an armoured car. Mu Chutong naturally had no rebuttal for that. In truth, Gu Xiaoshan also knew that his protectiveness over Renzi did exceed the normal limits.

However, he felt that doing so was still safer. He asked his chauffeur to follow Renzi, making sure that Renzi arrived home safely.

The chauffeur thought, not only do I have to be followed by him, I still have to follow him. That’s why they say gays really have varied interests!

Renzi reached home safely, and the chauffeur took a photo for Gu Xiaoshan, signalling the end of his task.

Gu Xiaoshan gave Renzi another call. Receiving this call not long after he arrived home, Renzi was also very surprised. “Didn’t you say you were going to bed?”

“Mn. I woke up,” Gu Xiaoshan said lightly. “Then I missed you.”

“Ah...” Renzi was like a wind chime swaying in the wind.

After that, every now and then Renzi would stalk Gu Xiaoshan. Gu Xiaoshan cooperated very well with him, while the chauffeur felt very discomfited.

Later, Renzi too started feeling discomfited.

That evening when he saw Shang Ni and Gu Xiaoshan having a meal, he had thought that it was only a simple meeting. Renzi then discovered that Shang Ni was appearing too many times. Also, Shang Ni’s actions were extremely exaggerated. He was usually fine, but once he saw Gu Xiaoshan, he seemed as though he was missing a bone. Twisting and turning about, it was like he was a cobra in front of a snake charmer.

“Fuck,” Renzi cursed. “That vixen!”

Shang Ni would periodically appear in front of Gu Xiaoshan with the excuse of business. Gu Xiaoshan was unable to refuse him, and so discussed about their work with him. However, he staunchly rejected all the flirtatious signals he was making at him.

Renzi could not help feeling a little sour, sitting alone in the cafe opposite the Gu offices as he drank his coffee. Halfway through his cup, he suddenly smelled a very strong scent of perfume. Looking up, he saw Shang Ni.

Shang Ni saw Renzi and was startled, “Isn’t this Second Young Master Yu?”

Shang Ni was also here to “accidentally” bump into Gu Xiaoshan.

Despite how much Renzi was unhappy with Shang Ni, he still politely smiled at him in accordance to his upbringing. “Mn, I am. You are?”

Shang Ni sat himself down. “I’m Shang Ni, the president of Company XX. I’m now in the midst of discussing a partnership with Xiaoshan.”

“Oh...” Renzi thought, is Xiaoshan’s name for you to call?

Shang Ni smiled, “You’re Xiaoshan’s fiancé? I’ve always been rather curious...”

“What are you curious about?” Renzi asked.

“I often meet Xiaoshan and chat with him. He’s never mentioned you much, so I’m really curious.”

If this was Renzi of ten years ago, he might have anxiously froze at the scene. Now, Renzi was fully secure in his relationship, and he had quite a temper on him. Without much politeness, he said, “Then how do you know I’m his fiancé? You predicted it?”

Shang Ni was taken aback, and laughed. “Of course not, I learnt about it through the news.”

“It’s also completely normal for you to not discuss personal matters when discussing work,” Renzi said.

Shang Ni laughed coyly, “We also discuss personal matters. We can’t always discuss work, can we?”

Renzi asked curiously, “What sort of personal matters?”

“Like poetry, philosophy...” Shang Ni sighed lightly. “The first time I saw him, I had thought he was an icy, cool president. After understanding him did I then know how romantic and gentle he was.”

Renzi was a little angry hearing this, but he did not know how he should react. Mu Chutong had taught him before that if anyone’s words made him very angry but he did not know how to rebut, there was only an all-purpose response that could be used all the time. Renzi then went according with what he was taught. Taking in a deep breath, his face was composed, and he said, “Oh.”

The all-purpose response.

“President Gu is really handsome, and very considerate.”

“He even said that he wanted to gift me a fountain pen.”

“Is it?”

“But I didn’t accept it.”

Renzi chuckled.

No matter what Shang Ni said coyly, Renzi would respond with a poker face, saying “oh”, “is it”, or just chuckle. He would occasionally accompany his response with a profoundly faint smile, or a contemptuous cold laugh.

As such, the foolish Renzi suddenly turned into an enigmatic, somewhat elegant and noble person.

Shang Ni thought, everyone says that this second young master is very dumb, I really didn’t expect him to be so capable.

So, Shang Ni smiled, “Ah, right, should we add each other on our social media?”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t bring my phone,” Renzi responded. Right after that, his phone rang.

Renzi had no choice but to pick his phone up. Seeing Mu Chutong’s name on his screen, he stood up and told Shang Ni, “I have something on and I need to leave. Take your time here.”

Renzi then walked away as he answered his phone.

Mu Chutong had originally called him to ask about his wedding, but Renzi talked about bumping into Shang Ni instead. “Why does it feel so uncomfortable speaking to this Shang Ni? Is it my misconception or does he really want to seduce my husband?”

“Why don’t you just ask him directly? Aren’t you very straightforward? Asking him frankly, if he says yes, you can just resent him to death. If he says no, you can ask him to stop and not do those things that would make people misunderstand.”

Renzi shook his head, “Is that very rude?”

“He’s the rude one,” Mu Chutong said. “What is he trying to do?”

Renzi did not know how to resent someone. He took a few lessons from Mu Chutong, feeling that he had gained a big advantage. So it turned out that resenting someone was so easy.

Every since he noticed Shang Ni’s existence, Renzi kept an even tighter watch over Gu Xiaoshan. To allow Renzi to spy on him easily, Gu Xiaoshan even did not order any food delivery during lunch, going to the restaurant downstairs instead for an executive lunch. Shang Ni went on an even stronger offense towards Gu Xiaoshan, and would often go to the restaurant during lunch to bump into him. Gu Xiaoshan would appear at the restaurant, and Renzi would watch from the cafe opposite. When Shang Ni turned up, he would immediately call Gu Xiaoshan.

Gu Xiaoshan would answer the call in front of Shang Nig, and with Renzi’s instructions, he would say things like “I love you”, “I really miss you”, and “only you”.

However, Shang Ni’s shamelessness had exceeded the couple’s expectations. He could still hold on, and watch Gu Xiaoshan end his call, smiling, “Your fiancé is very clingy.”

“No,” Gu Xiaoshan shook his head. “I’m the clingy one. I’m not able to leave him.”

Shang Ni scoffed, “Then you don’t plan on trying something new? I know how to behave in such situations. After doing it, I’ll leave, I won’t cling onto you.”

Gu Xiaoshan was somewhat astounded. Shang Ni was someone with a little status, but he still made his request so directly. Why couldn’t the Party As he meet learn from Shang Ni and made their requests a little more direct?
