A NEET’s Guide to the Parallel World: Healer, the Strongest Cheat?

Chapter 6: Mimic

Chapter 6: Mimic

As usual I was tormented by the darkness, in an RPG this place would probably be known as a dungeon.

If it is a dungeon, shouldnt I at least get some good drops?

The only item Ive even seen since I came here was the creepy liquid, other than that theres nothing here!

Wait, there was the torch.

In other words, I was still in my school uniform, a school uniform with a ripped sleeve.

I look like Im just some highschooler who got lost and started wandering around in the dark. This place could at least give me a change of clothes, and bring that bitch here.

By that Im of course referring to Aries. I have no idea if that stupid princess is actually a bitch or not, but I feel like calling her that so I will.

The conversations I was having with myself seemed to be growing in number.

A large iron door lied in front of me, it was unlike anything Id ever seen with torches hung on either side of it.

.Something tells me this is the boss room.

In RPGs a door on this level is a clear indication of an event.

I pushed on it to see what would happen.

Nothing happened. Well if its not a push door you know what they say its a pull doo-

Theres nothing to pull on.

Well thats interesting.

I glanced around looking for a lever but didnt see anything.

Isnt there some kind of truck that when you pull down on a torch beside the door it opens? I thought this seemed reasonable but when I gave it a try the torch on the left broke.

Offended, I sat down.

Wait a minute. Haaaah, I am a special kind of stupid. I dont have to actually open the door.

Standing up, I walked back over to the door and

[Erosion Wave]!

This isnt a game, the answer was right in front of me. A hole big enough for a person to walk through opened in the door and light came pouring out.

Well, this worlds magic is just all purpose isnt it.

If this were a game I would have been stuck trying to find the proper key, so when I stepped into the room I was in quite a good mood.

I wouldnt say the room was pretty or anything, but I definitely preferred it to where I was before. It was a wide room with a tall ceiling and had candles lining the walls.

However, thats not what held my attention, from the time I entered the room there was only one thing I looked at.

A staff was left floating on a platform.

It looks like Ive finally arrived. Theres no mistake here right?

While erring on the side of caution, I continued until I was standing in front of the staff.

Finally, I get some equipment and its a staff.

The staff was emitting a light as it floated on the platform.

I mean, a magician needs a staff.

Suddenly, the ground shook violently.

Wha-, whats going on!?

A giant dropped from the ceiling, covered head to toe in knights armor. Rocks fell to the ground as it landed, fully equipped with a sword and shield. Overall, it was huge.

Hey,hey, hey, hey! Come on, I just got to this world! Isnt this a bit much!

Sand poured down from the ceiling as the giant made its way towards me.

Wait! Wait!

A large fissure opened in the ground thanks to the giant knight after it swung its sword down.

Kuu~

Somehow, I managed to get out of the way at the last second. My body was left scratched by debris but otherwise I was unharmed. Had I been any slower however, I would have been left with much more than a scratch.

[Aura Boost]!

A purple aura covered my body, it almost felt as though I was wearing a wave. After maxing out both [Attack Aura] and [Protection Aura] these two combined.

Magic: Aura Boost

MP cost: 50

Purple magic coats the body giving a boost to physical attack and defense.

I circled around behind the giant on its right side as it pulled out the sword embedded in the ground. The swords tip sliced through part of the platform.

Aye! Watch out for the staff! Youre completely willing to destroy it arent you!?

Whatever, its not like he understands what Im saying anyway.

[Erosion Wave]!

The reddish black sphere sprung to life around me, I watched as it came into contact with the giants left leg. The magic erased it below the knee and sent the knight crashing to a stump its balance destroyed.

Well that was easy.

Before I noticed the giant had begun to spin on its stump brandishing the sword. Picking up speed, suddenly I was attacked by the tremendous wind pressure and sent flying by the sword.

Kuaaaa!

Blood splashed on the ground, it was the first time in my life that I vomited blood.

I.. think that was supposed to hurt a lot more than it did. Is this from the level?

With no time to lie around in pain I tried to gather my strength, the damage leaving my body feeling heavy. I should have gone all out from the beginning, but instead I had become over confident with the massive level up.

Im going all out this time! [Erosion Wave]!

The ominous magic sprung to life around me, extending outward to collide with the giant. The magic crawled up the knight, covering the top of its head, erasing everything as it went.

Hahahahahahahaha, I am awesome!

Halfway through the erosion, the giant burst into tiny particles of light.

Looks like its over.

[Mimic {armored giant} level 400] defeated, [Inherent skill: Goddesss divine protection] activated.

The same announcement voice from the last time rang inside my head.

Mimic? That thing was a mimic? Seriously?

Who could have imagined that thing would have been a mimic.

And it was level four hundred, how in the world was this giant monstrosity of a mimic, lower leveled than that treasure chest?

The loot prompt appeared before me.

Skill: Mimics Life

Equipment: Advanced Knights large sword

Equipment: Advanced Knights shield

The equipment for an advanced knight, its hard to throw either of those away. However, skills cant be replaced. No matter what game it is the fact remains, ultimately skills are necessary. Of course a strong weapon is effective but for me skills are more important right now.

Skill: Mimics Life

Disguise.

A skill possessed by high level mimics in rare situations, the user is capable of disguising their status.

This guy must have struggled too, I was weak enough that I could sympathize with the mimic.

Goodbye fantasy.

Theres now way any of that equipment probably couldnt have been used by a healer, no matter how much I wanted it.

Skill [Mimics Life] acquired.

Choosing this wasnt a mistake right? But the advanced knight stuff, that could have been me.

Leveling up.

Since coming to this world, this is the second time Im leveling up.
