Chapter 20
Chapter 20: Ch. 20 Relocate Lori
(Still Flashback)
After putting Lori in a comfortable bed and placing several large pillows around her, Richard exited the room while calling someone.
Tonight that woman will come here? It seemed he needed to improvise his plan.
Richard ordered all the employees who guarded this villa to go home early so that no spies or anyone would divulge the secrets of his plans to the woman who has a maid profession.
Then, he told his three younger siblings to take Lori to Delft, where her daughter would be safe with his father.
He had to tell Harmonie that Lori was his biological daughter. At first, Moni didn’t believe it until Richard showed her the DNA test kit box.
“So you called Dr. Chard because...”
.....
“Because I want to confirm this.”
“Aaa...” Harmonie’s mouth was wide open because she couldn’t believe the facts she had just heard. “Brother, who is the mother?”
Richard smiled without answering. “Don’t tell Kenken and Meli about this. I still don’t want to spread this news.”
“What about dad, mom, then brother Ray?”
“I’ll leave the task to you.”
“What?”
“Don’t tell them right away that Lori is my daughter. Dad will hunt me to the ends of the world. Make them like Lori, only when you find the right moment you tell them.”
“What if they don’t like Lori?”
“Are you seriously saying that? There doesn’t seem to be anyone who doesn’t like my daughter.” Richard gave a big smile and said it in a tone filled with great pride.
Harmonie rolled her eyes, but she also laughed in amusement. What her brother stated was true. No one would dislike a sweet, adorable, and loveable baby girl like Lori.
Even though the kid is only three, she isn’t a timid child and is capable of stealing everyone’s heart.
“Okay. I won’t say anything. Then what are you going to do? Why did you kick us out while you were staying here?”
“I want to seize my future wife.”
Boom!
Not once but twice did her brother drop a bomb on her. Harmonie has just accepted that her brother already has a child out of wedlock, and now he has a wife candidate.
Then what about Lori’s biological mother?
Her brother had really gone mad. Harmonie thought to herself.
“Moni! What are you doing? We must leave now so we won’t be late when we arrive in Holland.”
“Wait, I’ll wake Lori up.”
Richard let Lori sleep first while the others packed to get ready to head back to Delft. The journey from Frankfurt to Delft, where his parents live, took about four to five hours. So they left at five in the evening to arrive in Delft before midnight.
Richard slowly opened the door to Lori’s room and then carried Lori slowly. Despite being very slow and careful, Lori still woke up and opened her sleepy eyes while yawning widely.
“Daddy?”
Before discovering that Lori was her sister’s daughter, Harmonie felt funny when she heard Lori’s endearment for Richard. But now, she didn’t find it funny anymore when she heard the girl call dad.
“Does she know?” Harmonie wondered if Lori knew that Richard was her birth father.
Lori had called Richard ‘papa’ from the beginning. But they thought maybe this child didn’t have a father, so meeting the kind and understanding Richard made Lori consider Richard as her father.
Who would have thought that Richard was indeed Lori’s father?
Richard shook his head. “I want to let her mother tell her.”
Harmonie is not a stupid girl to miss the meaning behind her brother’s words. “So, the future wife you want to seize...”
Again Richard did not answer the question and only gave eye play by moving his eyebrows up and down. Richard’s naughty manner annoyed her.
“Alright, I’ll leave my daughter to you.” Richard continued as he gave his daughter into his sister’s arms.
“Daddy? I don’t want to go.”
“Only a while. I will come back to you later.”
“Will you leave me?”
“No, my baby girl. I will never leave you. I’ll see you tomorrow with mommy. Afterward, we will go around Gierthoon by using the canal with her. What do you think? Do you like it?”
“En. I like it very much.”
“So you must heed Aunt Moni’s words in my absence, okay? She is my beloved sister.”
Lori glanced at the person holding her curiously while Harmonie glanced back at her with a gentle and loving smile.
“You have a sister?”
“Of course.”
“Will I have a sister after you get back together with mommy?”
Cough... cough... Harmonie choked on her saliva at the innocent question of her niece.
“I would be very excited to give you a sister, but I’m not sure your mom will like it. Maybe you should persuade her to cooperate with me so you will have a sister sooner.”
Harmonie glared at her brother in disbelief. Are that words even appropriate for a toddler to hear?
“Okay! I will persuade mommy.”
Richard smiled with satisfaction hearing that, while Harmonie just shook her head in resignation.
“We’d better go. Say goodbye to dad.” Harmonie said quickly because she didn’t want to attend such embarrassing words from her brother for a baby to hear.
“Bye-bye.” Lori immediately obeyed her aunt and waved her tiny hand.
Richard was unwilling to part, even if only for a few days, but he had to. He kissed his daughter’s forehead while hugging his sister, who was still holding his daughter.
“Be careful on the way. Call me as soon as you arrive.”
“Hmm. Good luck with your hunt.”
Richard chuckled, amused at that. “Of course, I’ll make it.”
And it’s true. He managed to catch his prey. As expected, the girl had set up a spy, so she knew the ins and outs of this villa and the position of the room Lori occupied.
It’s unfortunate for the woman because she knew nothing about the real Richard.
This villa was filled with automatic defense and attack systems. If an intruder entered and triggered the soundless alarm, the intruder could not get out of this place.
Richard had activated this house defense system as soon as Anxia entered the villa. All windows have been covered with iron railings, and all bedroom and garage doors have been locked automatically through the computer program.
Now Qiao Anxia had fallen into a trap with no way out, and Richard had no intention of letting go of his prey.
Flashback ends.
