Volume 6.5 Chapter 73: What If You Just Didn't Realize It And Had Gone Out With Someone
The following day had been quite hectic. Keith groaned as he stretched his hand. That caused Alfia to sigh, "Why are you acting so tired?"
"Because I've been doing a lot of things." Keith cracked his neck back and forth. It had been such a tiresome day. Smoking had become the primary food inside the mansion. However, it took a lot of work.
"I think you need to cut down on those smoked melons." Keith's gaze shifted between Alfia and Faelyn, his tone a mix of concern and exasperation. But the two, stepping back, retorted, "Do you have any idea how nutritious they are?!"
"Yeah! It's easy to eat and delicious as well!" The smoked melon was a great hit for the females. Because of how nutritious it was, they could eat it as much as they wanted.
"...It's not good for you when you eat so much." There's a thing called overeating. Even if the smoked melon was nutritious, if they ate so much, there was no way they wouldn't gain weight. It was not some magical fruit they could eat all the time.
"Hmm? What's going on?" When Keith entered the classroom, he noticed something off with the students. They stared at him. Yet, it was not the usual alienated gaze. It was filled with contempt and jealousy. This was especially the case with the males; they did not hide their jealousy.
Well, they have never tried to hide it before. But it was even more so today. Did something happen? Gabriel nudged Keith, "You didn't do anything these past few days, right?" Whenever this happened, Keith would be the de facto cause.
"No. I've been too focused on other things to do it." I don't think I did anything to them.
"What about you two?"
"No way!" "Why are you looking at us?!" Those two definitely didn't have anything to do with this. That was for sure.
...
"Keith, were you hanging out with a bunch of women a few days ago?" During lunch, Tristan asked Keith.
"Hmm?" Keith thought about it as an idea came, "Yeah. Shakti and the other girls from White Lily invited me out to eat. Kinda forced." Shakti grabbed his hand, not allowing him to escape.
As Keith said this, the look on the others changed. It was a look of acceptance and understanding.
Licht clapped his head, "No wonder that rumor occurred."
"Do you know what's going on, Brother?"
"There's a rumor going around that you're having a lot of flings with different women."
"Wait, what?" Keith blinked. Come on now. Those rumors were getting out of hand. He knew about the rumors going around about himself. It was kinda true. So the man really had no point in saying anything.
But this one was getting out of hand. Were these culprits asking for trouble from White Lily? He was sure White Lily would blast them if they heard about it.
"But it's strange," Licht muttered.
"Strange? What's strange?"
"The rumors talked about how you were going out with those girls. But it never said who you were going out with. It only focused on you being there." That was something odd. With stuff like this, the other party would have also been revealed. Yet, there was no information on them.
This was odd.
"That meant the person who spread the rumors obviously knew about White Lily." They were an A-rank party. No one wanted to face their wraith.
"Actually, they might not know. Rather, it seemed this was more like a snipe at you more so of them being scared of White Lily." That was the feeling Alfia got.
"But on a serious note," A stern expression formed on the elf's face.
"Hmm?"
"Are those rumors true?" With that response, everyone turned to the man.
"HUH?!" Keith was baffled. Just baffled by the comment.
"I mean, now that I think about it." Tristan rubbed his chin. The others realized something as well.
"You know a lot of people. More so on the female side as well." That was what was odd with this entire situation. Out of everyone at the table, Keith had a lot of female friends. It wasn't bizarre to assume there would be things going on.
"No way!" Keith waved his hand, "There's no way I would do something like that."
"What if you didn't?"
"Huh?"
"What if you just didn't realize it and had gone out with someone," Herrick muttered.
"..." How could that work?! Before Keith could respond,
"..." The others went cold.
"Are you kidding me?! Would I be the type to do that?!"
"..."
"Anyways, I really didn't do anything like that." Keith didn't say anything else as he got up and walked away. When he did,
"Carolyn, is something the matter?"
"No, it's nothing."
