Volume 2 Chapter 88: Apartment

Keith scratched his head.

Orin blinked, "Is that alright?" Wasn't those coins supposed to be used for the bakery?!

Why was he using it here?!

"I got the okay from Ralph and the others. Actually, they were all in for me doing this," Keith had a discussion about this.

The bakery made an excess number of coins. However, Keith knew it wouldn't be alright to use it without asking them about it.

Surprisingly, they all supported Keith's decision. They understood what the people from the slums were going through.

Rory and Carl used to be part of the slums. It wasn't in this town. But they went through the same experience as them.

That was why they wanted Keith to go all out! They wanted the people in the slums to have a better life.

"I see. That's good," Orin nodded.

"Don't tell anyone about this. I chose to help them. I should at least pay my part to the fullest," Keith laughed.

"I see," Kid, I think you've done more than enough. Orin shook his head. He turned to the people smashing down some huts, "Hey! Smash them up properly! Don't blow them to bits!"

"Let me help out too!" Keith laughed as he walked over there to help out. While they went to work, what they didn't realize was that a few people listened in on their conversation.

"The young master used his own personal coins to help us!"

"The young master is a saint!"

"He provided us with jobs, but now he handed his coins to help us build our homes." Like that, the rumors about Keith's greatness heightened even more!

But that was something Keith wouldn't realize until the end.

...

"Hah," William sipped on his tea. While he was doing that, "Carter, isn't my son amazing?"

"Indeed," Carter nodded. William had always said this, and Carter would shrug it off. This man would show off his son all the time!

But this time was much different from others. Keith was doing something that all others had given up hope on!

"My son is a saint!" William chuckled.

Carter grabbed his head, "You understand the young master would be angry if you say that." Because of his actions, Keith was known by the people as the northern saint! But the young master's expression looked doomed.

When Sophia called him that, Keith looked dead outside. It seemed he hated the name.

"But his actions are like a saint," William chuckled. He used his own coins to make the homes in the slums. That was a foolish move.

But Keith continued to do it.

"His idea for housing is interesting," William looked over the design Keith handed him.

...

"Have you heard?! The young master is almost finished with the housing structure in the slums!"

"Already?!"

"Only two months had passed!"

"Mmmhmm! From what I heard, it's really big as well!" The townspeople talked about it.

"Let's go check it out!" The townspeople were interested. They had never decided to go there. It was the black sheep of the town.

But Keith had changed it now.

"We're finally done!" Keith roared as he stared at the giant building in front of them!

"Is it really done?" The people from the slums questioned. They stared at the giant building.

Keith nodded his head, "Mmhmm! It's done now! Please check it out!"

"This is incredible! It's bigger than the huts!"

"I designed it for many people to live here," Keith smiled. What was in front of them was a giant brick apartment!

...

"You want to make a two-layer apartment?" Orin questioned. Orin was brought into William's office. He was going to help with the construction of the building,

"Mmhmm. I want to make it into two tiers!" Keith knew this was the best idea. With two tiers, they could have more people live in it.

"I see. We can manage that,"

"We can fit about six families of four into each apartment," Keith calculated.

To build the apartment, he needed to use the space of three huts. Those huts didn't use the space properly. With this apartment, they could fit two times more!

"I see," William nodded to this.

...

"Please head in and check it out," Keith suggested. And like that, a few entered the apartment!

"It's so warm!" The children were in awe at how incredible it was. It was so warm and cozy.

Keith smiled, "There's also a simple stove for you to use,"

Keith had installed a simple wood-burning stove. Throw in some wood, and it would warm the entire room up.

Old-school. But it was ten times more advanced than the old ones. The ones they used before were fire pit style.

"I've also reused the wood from your hut to make some beds. I also asked around the town to see if they had leftover blankets and other things," Each apartment had two bedrooms, one bath, and a living room with a kitchen built in together.

The people were in awe of the apartment. But they quickly bowed their heads down to Keith,

"Thank you so much, Young Master Keith!"

"We can never be so grateful for what you gave us!"

"It's fine. But you understand you will pay rent and taxes now, right?"

"Mmmhmm. We understood," They knew there was no free lunch in this world.

"Don't worry. The prices will be fair for all of you," Keith stated.

He turned to Orin, "Now then! We need help to bring people there!" It was time to move the people in!

"We'll help out!" The people of the slums started to help the ones move into it.
