Volume 2 Chapter 44: What Kind Of Travesty Did I Hear?!
Keith and Carolyn continued to look around. Their eyes sparkled with excitement. They were in awe with everything they saw. There were many stalls set on the roads.
"Let's go look at that!" Fira pointed at a really colorful stall. Keith and Carolyn nodded as they walked towards it. This one sold paintings.
They stared at a specific painting.
But as they st
ared at the painting, it quickly transformed into something else!
"What happened?" "How can it change?" The stall owner laughed, "This is a magic painting. It's a never-ending changing painting. You need to put a magic crystal into it, and it can change into whatever you think of."
"Oooh!" That sounds so cool. Both Keith and Carolyn were in awe of the new things they saw. But as they were doing this, James nudged Alvin,
"Your little brother doesn't look all that special to me." When he said that, Alvin's expression darkened,
"Do you understand what you're saying?" Those were some fighting words.
"What? Don't get mad. But what you said about your brother, I thought he was some super crazy person." James stated. The way Alvin described Keith was absurd. He thought he was some monster.
"Besides the Blizzard Owl on his shoulders, he doesn't seem like a monster." Keith was cute. That was something he realized. And the Blizzard Owl and the other monsters on his shoulders were eye-catching.
But that was pretty much it with Keith. Besides all of that, he looked like a simple and cute child.
"You will understand when you talk with him longer," Alvin said nothing else as he watched Keith and Carolyn stare at the stalls. The two continued to look through everything that was there. They bought some things as well.
"Keith, we should find some food!" Fira stated as she tugged on his shoulders.
"You're right." It was time to find some good food. But when he looked around, he realized there weren't any stands that sold food.
"Alvin, are there any stalls that sell food?"
"Ahh, we don't have any of that." Keith blinked a few times. He questioned,
"What did you say?"
"We don't sell any food at the festival."
"..." No food? But this was a festival. HOW COULD THEY NOT SELL FOOD?!
What kind of travesty did I hear?! Keith's mind was about to explode.
But another thought came to his mind. Keith smiled, "Alvin, can I ask for something?"
"..." Alvin and James stared at him. Alvin didn't know why, but the look on Keith's face said he was about to do something drastic.
...
While Keith's group left, Eric led the rest of the family all over the festival.
"William, what's the secret with your son?" Julius asked with a serious look.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" William tilted his head.
"You do understand the significance of those recipes, right?" Thinking about it now, the value of those recipes was enough to cause a lot of headaches.
"I know." William understood.
"I'll help you out with suppressing those people. But I want something in return." Julius smiled.
"No." William didn't even hesitate to deny it.
Julius frowned, "You didn't even let me finish."
"You want to put a gate in my town, right?" William understood what he wanted to do.
It was something he kept asking him to add to his town even before Keith.
"But it will be beneficial for you! It will increase the number of goods coming and going from your town." In a cold region like that, goods were difficult to ship.
"Not interested. And we have enough goods. And you're forgetting about the other problems." Having a gate would bring unsuitable people to his town as well.
This king was forgetting something like that.
"And I prefer traveling than using something like that." By traveling, he was able to meet and find new things.
"...Fine." Julius sighed and added, "But let me taste some of your son's cooking."
"No." William rejected the idea again. Thalia and Sophia could only stare at them. The two looked like little kids. Thank goodness Keith and Carolyn aren't here right now. These two would be a bad influence on them.
But as they continued to discuss, they smelled something really nice!
"What's going on?" "Why does it smell so good?" It wasn't just William's group who smelled it.
It was the entire area.
Eric turned to look in that direction. Derek did the same as well.
"Don't tell me."
"It has to be him."
"What?" Julius tilted his head.
"Let's go find out."
