Chapter 1: Being Mistaken for an Assassin
Chapter 1
The night was dark and windy, perfect for murder and arson.
The moon was covered by pieces of dark clouds, shrouding the earth in darkness.
In the back mountain woods, the wind blew the branches violently as they creaked and groaned, as if making the final struggles of life.
The air was mixed with the thick smell of blood, intermittently spreading the cries of crows.
......
Lan City.
The deep of night, ghostly winds, not a soul on the streets.
At the Li Residence, in the spacious courtyard, guards were on patrol.
"Ahhh..."
Suddenly, a sharp cry cut through the night sky!
At this moment, the wind stopped and everything returned to calm.
As the patrolling guards looked up, they saw the clouds dispersing, revealing the bright moonlight.
Then, something fell from the sky, crashing onto a roof in another courtyard.
"That's the young master's room! Hurry over and check it out!" Several guards immediately rushed over to the other courtyard.
Inside the bedroom, within the transparent mosquito net, two naked people were engaging in shameful acts.
As the roof was smashed open with a crash, tiles fell, and two figures came crashing into the bedroom!
The sudden loud noise scared the man who immediately extinguished his fire!
"Ow, that hurt..."
Su Mo rolled over as she fell to the ground, rubbing her bruised butt.
With furrowed brows, she subconsciously turned her head and saw the two naked people on the bed staring at her and Sang Li in shock.
Sang Li also looked towards the mosquito net, all four pairs of eyes, big eyes staring at small eyes, all with shocked expressions!
Although there was a mosquito net, it was transparent!
"Ah..." The woman on the bed reacted first, screaming as she hurriedly pushed away the man and grabbed the sheets to cover her chest!
"Who are you?! Assassins! Catch the assassins!" The man reacted and also grabbed the sheets, shouting loudly.
Su Mo and Sang Li had not realized what was happening when they heard urgent footsteps outside.
Sang Li looked around, made up her mind, and quickly pulled Su Mo up!
"Mo Mo, hurry up and run!"
They ran to the door and found people were about to reach the door!
"We're done for... it looks like we can't escape!"
"Sis Li, don't worry, we can fight them!" Su Mo patted her chest, "Leave it to me!"
Sang Li stopped Su Mo who was about to open the door.
She turned and looked at the man who had poked his head out trying to sneakily grab his clothes.
"Mo Mo, grab him first!"
Su Mo turned around, took two or three steps, and directly kicked the man back onto the bed!
"Ah..." The woman on the bed shrank frightenedly into a corner, shuddering.
"Young Master, Young Master, are you alright?!" There was anxious shouting outside.
Just as the man was about to speak, Su Mo's foot, still in her Doc Martens boots, stepped on the bed. She flipped open the mosquito net and gave him a warning look.
"If you dare make a sound, I'll cripple you! Let's see if they get in faster or if my knife is faster?"
Su Mo took out a knife from her pocket, flipped it open with her thumb, and pointed below him.
The man was so frightened he didn't dare speak, his forehead dripping with sweat.
He didn't dare let go of the sheets, afraid that if he did, Su Mo would really cripple him!
Su Mo then reached out and stroked the woman's face with a roguish grin.
"Beauty, this man is clearly no good, you should find another one!"
Sang Li pursed her lips: "Mo Mo, stop kidding around, let's go quickly!"
Su Mo raised her brows and pulled Sang Li to jump out the window just as the door was broken down!
Seeing the scene on the bed, the guards were collectively frightened and immediately turned around.
"Young Master... are you... alright?"
The man and woman hurriedly got dressed properly.
"Catch those two female assassins for me, I want to hack them into thousands of pieces!!!"
The man was so angry he almost choked!
He had lost all face!!
......
Having just arrived, Su Mo and Sang Li were completely unfamiliar with the environment and could only rely on instinct to haphazardly hide.
Right now, all of Li Residence's guards had been alerted and were looking for the two strangely dressed women!
Seeing the guards dressed in ancient clothing, Su Mo looked at Sang Li incredulously.
"Sis Li, did we... travel through time?"
"I think... we did!" Sang Li said calmly.
From what she saw of the room's furnishings and the couple's hair and makeup when they fell in, she knew they had time traveled.
"Then... where are Xiao Han and Miao Miao?! Why don't I see them?"
Sang Li thought about it. The four best friends were wandering the museum together. In one of the exhibit rooms, they came across a very old antique book.
Out of curiosity, the four gathered around to take a look.
Suddenly, there was a flash of white light before their eyes, and the four seemed to be in a space-time tunnel. Spinning around dizzily, she grabbed Su Mo beside her, and the two inexplicably fell here!
"They should have time traveled too, just not to the same place as us. We have to get out of here first, then go find them!"
......
After a while, staring at the dog hole in front of them, they fell into contemplation.
After sneaking around the residence for half a day, although the guards didn't catch them, they couldn't get out either.
They finally found two exits, but there were many people guarding both doors!
The two looked at each other and said in unison: "Should we crawl through?"
"What joke is this?! I, Su Mo, have made a great name for myself, how could I possibly crawl through a dog hole?! I'd rather fight my way out, I absolutely won't crawl through a dog hole!"
Su Mo put her hands on her hips. Her long brown curls were tied up in a high ponytail, and her fringe was a bit messy.
She wore cargo pants and Doc Martens boots, paired with a cropped top, vaguely revealing her abdominal muscles.
Having trained in martial arts since childhood, she was a beautiful and heroic young mistress who preferred action over empty talk. If she could take them in a fight, she wouldn't hesitate, but if not, she would either run or surrender, quite adaptable...
"My image and persona simply do not allow me to crawl through a dog hole!"
Sang Li crossed her arms over her chest. In a tight black dress, her purse hung from her elbow, and her high heels dangled from her fingers as she stood barefoot on the grass. Her long black hair was blown into disarray by the wind.
Mature and sensible, she was a goddess with both beauty and wisdom. She would use her brain instead of brawn, with her motto being: "A fairy should always remain elegant."
