Chapter 72 - 72 Cheng Fei
72 Cheng Fei
“That’s right. Captain Chen thinks so too, but those people from the black market are extremely vigilant. They won’t give themselves away at all. Even if we know, we can’t prosecute them.” After saying that, Bai Luo yawned loudly.
“Sleep for a while. There are too many things to do at the police station now. I’ll go over to Captain Chen’s and see if I can help.” Yin Tao closed the door for Bai Luo and walked out of the dormitory.
The atmosphere in the police station was tense. All the police officers were bustling around. No one was idle.
“Captain Chen!” Yin Tao saw Captain Chen walking out of the surveillance room and quickly went up to him.
“Xiaoyin.” When Captain Chen saw Yin Tao, he forced a smile, but he was looking tired. “What’s the matter?”
“Captain Chen, you have to take care of yourself too,” Yin Tao kindly reminded him when she saw how haggard he looked.
“Sigh, it can’t be helped. There are too few clues, we have to investigate bit by bit. The more cases there are, the more troublesome it becomes.” Captain Chen still had the missing person’s information in his hand. He still had to look for witnesses later.
“Where is Captain Feng?” Yin Tao looked around but didn’t see Feng Jing and Ji Yu.
“Captain Feng went to the police station to record statements.” Captain Chen saw Yin Tao’s eyes widen in surprise.
“Did he go to look for the blondie hooligan, Zhou Nan?”
“It should be. Feng Jing found evidence that Zhou Nan and Sun Peng had interacted with each other and is now trying to start with Zhou Nan. Captain Feng suspects that the body parts in Sun Peng’s rented house are related to Zhou Nan.” After Captain Chen finished speaking, the cell phone in his pocket rang.
Yin Tao nodded slightly at Captain Chen and left him to work on the case.
If the body parts found in Sun Peng’s rented house came from Zhou Nan, then he must have transported the body parts there.
Yin Tao suddenly thought of someone.
After leaving the police station, she hailed a taxi and told him her destination, Wen An district.
The car stopped at the entrance of Wen An district. Yin Tao paid the fare and slowly got out of the car.
She had a good memory and effortlessly found the residence of Cheng Fei and his sister, Cheng Yao.
Yin Tao knocked on the door gently and soon a middle-aged man opened it.
“Hello, may I know if Cheng Fei is here?” Yin Tao looked through the crack in the door and found that the room was a little messy, as if someone was in the midst of packing.
“Cheng Fei?” The middle-aged man thought for a moment and said to Yin Tao, “I don’t know him. I just moved in. The person you’re talking about should be the previous tenant.”
Yin Tao didn’t expect Cheng Fei to shift, so she continued to ask the middle-aged man, “Have you seen him? Do you know where he lives now?”
The middle-aged man was originally a little annoyed from packing, but seeing that Yin Tao was young and pretty, he patiently said to her, “I saw him when I was viewing the apartment. He’s quite fair and thin, and quite good-looking, but he looks a little like a woman.”
Through the man’s description, Yin Tao confirmed that the person he was talking about was Cheng Fei. The first time she saw him, she also felt that he was a little effeminate.
“I don’t know where he lives now, but you can ask the landlord.” The man pointed in a direction to Yin Tao and said, “The landlord’s surname is Wang. He’s an uncle in his fifties and lives on the third floor on the opposite block, the unit in the middle.”
“Thanks very much.” Yin Tao thanked the man and walked towards the residential building opposite.
The residential building on the opposite side was slightly newer than the one Cheng Fei and the others lived in, but it was also a walk-up. Yin Tao walked up to the third floor and knocked on the door which had an oldish looking ‘Fortune’ character pasted on it.
“Who is it?” An unfriendly voice rang out from the room. Yin Tao stopped knocking for a moment before she asked, “Hello, is this Mr. Wang?”
The door was slowly pushed open, and a bald middle-aged uncle walked out of the room. “Who are you looking for?”
The man glanced at Yin Tao. He had never seen this girl before.
“Hello, I would like to ask you about Cheng Fei.” Yin Tao noticed that when she said Cheng Fei’s name, the middle-aged man’s expression had clearly turned ugly.
“I don’t know. I have so many houses to rent. How could I remember so many people living here!” The uncle was about to close the door when Yin Tao hurriedly stretched out her leg to stop him.
“I just wanted to ask you if you know where he lives and if you have his contact information. I don’t need anything else.” Yin Tao’s expression was exceptionally sincere, making it difficult for him to refuse.
“Alright, wait a moment.” The uncle frowned and walked into the room.
Yin Tao stood at the door, wondering why this fifty-year-old uncle had such an obvious dislike for Cheng Fei. Although she didn’t know much about Cheng Fei, he seemed to be a kind person and didn’t seem like the type to incur other’s wrath.
