Chapter 216: Deathly quiet

Now, only Minya, Moon and Severus were standing, facing each other. Like others, Moon wanted to escape for her life, but things were finally happening the way she always wanted, no way in hells he was going to miss this opportunity, that's what she thought in her mind, but a tiny voice in her heart whispered, to leave.

It said, nothing is worth if you are dead, but she forced that voice to shut up and then and there, she sealed her fate.

As for Minya, he turned into a semi beast. His body became one with the serpent. He felt agile like never and as stronger as God himself. He cherished the power despite its hideous appearance.

"Ewwwyou don't look handsome, not like you ever looked good but old you were still easy to look" He commented.

"Shut up or else I will rip your heart"

"Even if I did shut up, you will still rip my heart. It's better of I just say what I have in my mind"

"Ouch"

He evaded the attack from him. Moon just stood there at the corner, trying her best to hide her presence but it was foolish if she thought she could hide in open ground. With a swift tug, Severus pulled her in his embrace and used her as a meat shield. Intentionally, or may be un-intentionally he took some of the hits. He could hear the gut-wrenching sound of her but, he just didn't care.

Given the chance, she would have done the same.

"SeSeverus" She whispered.

"I am sorry"

"Shut up bitch" He mocked.

The evade strategy didn't work for a long as Moon's body was reaching to its limit. Severus had to agree that Minya had turned powerful.

He unsheathed his sword and finally beckoned him.

"You are foolish if you think you can win against me using some rusty old sword" He mocked but Severus just laughed in response.

"We will see what this old rusty sword can do"

A swift slash and his small finger chopped from his hands. His arms appeared to be fastened to his sides. His legs were intertwined with each other, and his feet had disappeared. The long green train of his tail thickened and grew solid and seemed to be all one piece with the writhing green pillar. And that writhing green pillar was curving and swaying as if it had no joints, or else were all joints. His head was thrown far back and while his nose grew longer and longer, every other part of his face seemed to disappear, except his eyes. Huge flaming eyes they were now, without brows or lashes.

It happened so quickly that there was only just time to see it. Long before there was time to do anything, the change was complete, and the great serpent which the Minya had become, green as poison, thick green pillar, had flung two or three coils of its loathsome body round the Severus. Quick as lightning another great loop darted round, intending to pinion his sword-arm to his side. But Severus was just in time. He raised his arms and got them clear: the living knot closed only round his chest ready to crack his ribs like firewood when it drew tight.

Severus caught the creature's neck in his left hand, trying to squeeze it till it choked. This held its face about five inches from his own. The forked tongue flickered horribly in and out but could not reach him. With his right hand he drew back his sword for the strongest blow he could give.

Meanwhile Desella and Vlass came back and had drawn their weapons and rushed to his aid. All three blows fell at once, which did not even pierce the scales and did no good on the body of the snake below the Severus hand, but the Severus own blow and Vlass both on its neck, sliced him. Even that did not quite kill it, though it began to loosen its hold on Desella's legs and chest. With repeated blows they hacked off its head.

Since it wasn't working, once again Severus asked them to let it go.

"But this thing is too dangerous Severus"

"That is why I want you to let it go" Severus rebuked Desella in all seriousness. This was no child game; he had underestimated his power. Now was the time to be serious.

He again gave his blood to his own sword. Closing his eyes, he slowly chanted. "I call upon the dark power residing inside the blade. I offer you the blood, which you so desired, the one filled with pure evil, the very taste that you thirst for. I call upon you"

As soon as he said, the aura inside the room changed. It wasn't that the room didn't have an aura. It had and it was dangerous, but this was something. The aura that the sword was radiating was now pure evil that turned everyone's blood cold. Even the hybrid monster was affected by it.

Severus felt a surge of power inside him, swiftly he charged forward and in a beautiful way, slashed the serpent and killed him 9 slashes. The black blood dripped from his neck. The horrible thing went on coiling and moving like a bit of wire long after it had died; and the floor, as you may imagine, was a nasty mess.

Noworry who was watching everything with a worried sick expression was stunned for a moment.

This attack that Severus performed was a knowledge that was not known to everyone. Only a handful of them knew, so how was it possible for him to know. He was aware he didn't taught him that attack and there was zero chance anyone else did. His brain swirled with every possibility, but nothing was feasible until his gaze turned towards the sword.

Yes

Severus changed since he got the sword.

He turned powerful, strong but reserved too. It wasn't like his usual way.

Moon who was laying there saw the horror, she firsthand experienced the terror of Severus. She knew she was better dead than being held alive.

Severus just stood there after he killed Minya.

Just like that.

Few seconds later, his body started decomposing, and turned into powder. The serpent spirit however went inside the sword. Severus didn't know how but he could feel it's power.

[Everything all right Severus?] No worry questioned him, but he didn't reply. He just stood there, stoned.

[Severus]

It was deathly quiet.
