A Failure's hopeful Journey

Chapter 71: Under The Moonlight.

Chapter 71: Under The Moonlight.

After the meeting, everyone got busy with their work and You Xi Wang strolled around the mansion in leisure. He was bored. There was a limit to which he can cultivate in a day. He visited many places in the mansion. After the stroll, he came to a place which was lonely after his parents passed away.

It was a balcony garden in his parent's cultivation room. To this day the room was cleaned and everything inside was kept the way it was when they were alive. The balcony was filled with many flower pots. Most of the flowers were of light colors, his mother always liked white and other light colors. There were some bright-colored flowers there. You Xi Wang waved his hand and created a mist from water vapors which then settled over the plants. It was like morning dew has appeared to moisten the plants.

You Xi Wang watched these flowers for a bit when he felt someone else appear inside the room. He turned to see Maya walking towards him, followed by Celestia. Celestia's face blossomed with a smile when she saw You Xi Wang as she 'flew' herself into his embrace. Maya also jumped over his shoulder and snuggled against his face. You Xi Wang was between laughter and tears in this situation but he still held Celestia in his arms and asked, "Celes, what are you doing here?"

Celestia looked him in the eyes and said, "Big brother, Maya is so fast. I was playing tag with her, but I couldn't catch her." she replied in a complaining tone. You Xi Wang couldn't help but chuckle and spoke to the white furball on his shoulder, "Maya, don't bully my little fairy, okay? She is a good girl." the wolf cub nodded and You Xi Wang turned to the girl in his arms, "Celes, remember if your opponent is stronger than you in physique then use your brain, that is how you will grow stronger. Okay?" he consoled the girl.

Whoever the kid then asked him, "What if the opponent is stronger in both ways?"

You Xi Wang got momentarily stunned then he smiled and said, "Then, it comes down to the resolve. Resolve to try your best with no expectation of result. Work hard to improve yourself." he stroked her hair gently before he put her on the ground and led her to have lunch. All the way long the girl was silent, then just as they were about to reach she snapped, "Okay, I get it. Granny Xin told me that even if one loses they should not give up and keep on persisting. Only then can they become stronger."

You Xi Wang patted her head in affirmation. After they had lunch Celestia went to look for You Naixin for her lessons and she took Maya, who was very reluctant to part with You Xi Wang, with her. Again he felt bored. Even after being such an advanced world, Metropia was very constricted. The rules were strict and fun was limited. You Xi Wang saw his cousins carrying some things, and they were about to head out. He recognized those things to be musical instruments. You Xi Wang found these instruments weird and made himself a guitar.

In his previous life, he liked to do everything himself and when he wanted to learn how to play the guitar. He made one for himself, using his own hands. This was his personality, never satisfied with what anyone else could do. He searched the Metro-net and found some companies that supplied wood matching his requirements. He placed a rapid delivery order for the quantity needed. When he was confused about what to do about the strings, he saw a company on the internet which specialized in custom wire works.

You Xi Wang had the knowledge about how they were made, so he placed an order after filling in all the requirements and processes of manufacture. In thirty minutes the wood was delivered. He took all the stuff to his bedroom and started crafting the body of the guitar. In Metropia, elementary education taught people a lot of things, languages, basic subjects, such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and social science. Curricular activities were smiting, carpentering, alchemy, array study. So they were all very much well educated before they even reached high school. The technology provided solutions for everything, but this also affected the mental age of the kids, as they were way too mature for their age.

You Xi Wang had felt this in recent days. He became the Maestro thanks to this system, but he never had the time for anything else. He thought some changes should be done to create a more balanced society, that is why he came up with Football as a game in this world. In the evening, the strings he ordered arrived. Robert received them and brought them over to You Xi Wang. When he gave the strings to the latter. He noticed the wood scrubbing and dust inside the room. This made him curious about what his young master was doing, but before he could ask anything the door was closed and he left shaking his head.

After everything was joined, You Xi Wang strummed the strings, and it produced a familiar sound. He tuned the guitar using the cogs at the back. Because of the special wood, the guitar was light, and it produced a very pleasant acoustic sound. He was about to play the guitar when he looked around and saw the mess he made. With a bitter smile, he called in a maid and asked her to clean the room with an apologetic smile on his face. After that, he walked around the mansion looking for a place where he can sit down and play the guitar.

Many servants saw him carrying the guitar, something they had never seen before, and it aroused their curiosity. Just when someone was about to ask him what it was he ran towards his parent's cultivation room. He opened the door and took a stool from the side and carried it on the balcony. He sat down and placed the guitar on his thigh with the strings facing outwards.

The guitar was midnight blue, a hand extended outside from its body, six lustrous alloy strings could be seen attached to it. He strummed them downwards and a pleasant sound was produced. You Xi Wang smiled and started strumming the guitar with his right hand while his left hand pressed down the strings on the hand, which was known as a fretboard. He warmed up by playing scales, chords, and doing some exercises to flex his fingers.

Unknown to him, a clear sky lit up as the stars and moon shone in their full splendor. His family members were looking for him as he has put his Holo-phone away while working on the guitar. He hummed along with the strums and unknowingly started singing.

"There I stood, under the dim-lit moon, looking at the star-lit sky...

I don't know why, but it reminds me of your eyes...

That gentle gaze which caressed my face, full of sparkles inside...

I remember your words, those pinches that hurt, and the love you which will always reside...

There I stood, under the dim-lit moon, feeling the wind blowing my hair...

I don't know why, but it reminds me of that fair...

That firm grip which held me up, securing me by your side...

I remember your deeds, those playful hits, and the pats on my back which will always reside...

There I stood under the dim-lit moon, calling for you with a smile...

There you were, watching over us from the star-lit sky...

I will carry you with me, inside my heart, even after saying goodbye..."

The song ended after You Xi Wang hummed a bit more. Unknown to him when he started singing his family, which was looking for him to have arrived behind him, every one of them had misty eyes. The song had affected them all to varying degrees. You Zhichi wiped the tears at the corner of her eyes. She moved up to You Xi Wang grabbed his ear and said, "Bro, you made us all so worried." she twisted the ear in her grip, making You Xi Wang beg and scream for mercy.

He put down his guitar and ran from his sister, who chased behind him to give him a good whacking. Celestia also chased after them with Maya in her arms. This act brought a smile to everyone's face.
