Chapter 78 Enlarged Hohn
Hohn, the Duergar's level was twenty-five while Hitori's level was not even twenty-one. The level difference was not much considering that Hitori defeated Pontianak but at that time Reon had sacrificed herself.
The Duergar armor set was above level twenty; the ghost killer parang was level fifteen and the leaf saber skill was level thirteen, if used fire or water or ice saber skill, that would add above level thirty.
Hitori faced the 'quantity over quality' case while Hohn the Duergar faced the 'quality over quantity' case.
After Hitori was thrown on the gravel road and a few stones tried to pierce her back, the enlarged Hohn smashed its hammer on the ground once again.
The area got covered with dust and dry mud. A few pebbles and gravels bounced around the area.
Hitori coughed blood on the stones beneath him. He touched the gravel road and tensed his biceps… he failed. Hitori tried once again.
It was not even a surprise to him that he had to struggle to get off the game.
'Now this feels no different from the real world.' Hitori grunted.
The past memories tried to get him but Hitori had a strong sense of when to get sad and depressed, and when to stand up and fight– run for his life.
Not even thirty seconds had passed since Hohn enlarged and crushed Hitori's ribs.
Hitori stood up. Now that he stared at the Hohn, it was hard to believe that it was a dwarf previously.
Hitori pushed his feet against the road and turned around to take cover. Although it might not help him to hide from Hohn.
Hitori glanced behind him and saw a glimpse of green woods. It was not clear though but Hitori saw that there was a green forest behind him.
Hitori ignored the forest and rushed behind a rock. He opened the skillset tab. His eyes were fixed on one skill - Conjure Woodland Beings level twenty.
The 'read more' option blinked at Hitori as if asking him to touch it. Hitori was about to but Hohn did not let him.
Hohn raised its mace at Hitori, he used the few seconds and ran towards the forest.
Hohn saw where Hitori was headed, this one appeared to have more intelligence because it rushed and reached the forest entrance before Hitori.
Hitori came to a sudden stop, his feet scraped against the pebbles and he almost fell once again.
The air pressure increased all of a sudden. Hitori glanced up, Hohn stood above him with its hammer behind its head and two horns falling down from over Hohn's head.
"Oh, crap." Hitori created a fireball and threw it around him to light the area and get a clear view.
Gravels bounced, and dust ripples pushed Hitori away to a rock. Hohn got back up and looked around itself but he could not find Hitori.
He took deep breaths, "This is getting too real," since he felt pain in the game, Hitori has been scared of facing life and death situations.
His goal was to avoid life-threatening situations as more as possible and instead use his head to win the battle. Of course, he used his brain but now he decided to rely more on his intelligence.
Hitori did not even give himself time to calm down. He turned around and opened the [Conjure woodland beings] skill to read its description.
[A skill made especially for players who lurk in the green woods. Ideal spell for the Ranger /Archer class.]
"The advantages of being a jack of all trades." Hitori glanced behind and continued to read.
It has exactly been forty seconds since Hohn enlarged and transformed into a half-giant.
[Range- Twenty-meter radius]
[Duration- Upto one hour]
[Requirments- Must chant the spell in order to cast conjure woodland beings. Requires high concentration, the conjured beings may disappear if the user's concentration is disturbed.]
Time for Hitori to change his hiding spot. Five more seconds hand passed before Hohn found him behind another rock.
The rock was shattered into little stones and gravel after Hitori jumped from the hiding spot.
"Not possible." He closed the tab and did not bother to read the effects of the spell.
Hitori has always liked to know what his spells, skills, or weapons are capable of before encountering an enemy but this time was, he was behind on preparation.
"Tch, I can not keep running!" Hitori stopped right where he stood.
Ghost killer parang cut through the air first before it caught on ice and clashed with Hohn's thigh.
Hohn looked down at Hitori in surprise and confusion, what was he trying to do? It thought.
The parang had pierced through nothing. The thigh plates were so thick, Hitori thinks they were made of a different metal, that the parang managed to cut through nothing.
The Kuroi katana was of a higher level than ghost killer parang. It was sharper and stronger. Hitori had more experience with the katana rather than the parang, it was easy to use, in simple words.
But right now, it was crippled. No way Hitori could use it and manage to cut through the Duergar armor set.
Hitori pulled his parang back and slashed multiple times, nothing happened.
Hitori pulled the parang to the side of his face and stabbed Hohn's thigh once again– uh– tried to stab Hohn's thigh once again. Yeah.
Hitori's eyes went wide. Only a crack had formed on the thigh plate Hohn wore. He slowly lifted his wide eyes up at Hohn.
The Duergar looked down at Hitori with a frowned wrinkled face. Hitori gulped. His eyes followed Hohn's arms and fell on the hammer.
"No…" He shook his head.
Hitori pulled the parang and tried to run ahead. This was not what he had expected. So retreat seemed like the only possible way.
Hitori had run only a few feet before he was lifted off the gravel ground with the perfect golf swing by Hohn the Duergar.
Hitori felt two stabs in his back, in the broken backbones. The horns from Hohn's hammer had pierced Hitori's back.
Swoosh!
With a jerk, Hitori flew off in the air once again, he was sent off far towards the dark green forest.
Blood reached the hammer's head and dripped down to Hohn's fist.
One minute had passed.
Hohn, who stood where it was, started to shrink in size. Soon, it shrunk back to its original size.
