Chapter 96: Lady Marchioness
**********
LOCATION: CRUX CITY, CENTRAL REGION OF STELLARUS EMPIRE
CHEVALIER HOUSEHOLD MANOR
****DINNING HALL****
"Welcome. Have a seat first. I hope both of you had a good rest since yesterday's journey is a bit tiring, especially those fools who knows nothing but to let those mouth on the loose."
Altron greeted his two guests, Lorraine Fowler and Francis Aiden Kashaya, as both of them entered the dining hall and the maids had assisted them into their seats.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Grand Duke Chevalier. Both of us got some good rest and the servants greatly assist us."
The one who speaks is none other than Francis Aiden Kashaya, who Altron just met back at the academy and even though he is a bit wary of him since the [Enigma's Judgement] doesn't work on him and it wasn't on his plan to get to know about this mysterious young man but because of Lorraine's judgement about him then, Altron doesn't have a choice but to reluctantly accepted this young man.
As he converse with Francis back at the academy and upon learning of his connection to the Headmaster of the academy, for that moment, Altron let his defense down for a bit since Altron knows the Headmaster as both the Chevaliers and the Headmaster's household are part of the neutral faction.
'But, even if that was the case then, I shouldn't let my guard down but since Lorraine told me through telepathically at that moment, that this Francis guy isn't a threat then, I will trust her words… for now.'
Just because Altron had an alliance with Lorraine Fowler doesn't mean that he would forget what happened through his dreams, no—, his fragmented memories of the past-future events.
However, that's not important for now since Altron already confirmed that Lorraine Fowler was supposed to be the chosen one of this worldline and there is a keyword that Altron saw through his fragmented memories.
[Heroine]
From that word alone, Altron could only think of those novel characters that most of the noble ladies back at the academy were reading in their leisure time whenever he happens to stumble upon them, be it on the library or within the gardens together with their so-called circle of friends.
However, Altron couldn't go any further just to identify that word since it would take a toll on his body if he happened to peer through furthermore.
As for her relationship with Ezekiel?
Altron only knew that Lorraine and Ezekiel are related in some point but couldn't pinpoint in what way. Whenever he tried to activate his hidden trait, the [Enigma's Judgement], he was halted for a moment and could feel a sudden pressure from it.
That's why Altron could tell that perceiving Lorraine's relationship with Ezekiel warns him that it's a dangerous endeavor that he's trying to take and since that's a case then, he didn't try it anymore.
Lest he wanted to get himself in danger.
'That's one of the reasons why I still couldn't trust Lorraine at all since she knows something about Ezekiel that I haven't. Maybe because of that heroine status or something?'
As he thought about that, he couldn't get the feeling about this woman as this worldline's chosen one or something.
'Is that the reason why she had that rare bloodline? Because she is being favored by the Gods?'
He didn't know what to think anymore from that moment and since he agreed to be on an alliance with this woman then, and if Lorraine managed to give him some information regarding about Ezekiel, then, he would deem this woman as a useful one.
Altron isn't some saint or something. This is just a fair trade since before anything else, Altron Zerux Chevalier is a noble at all.
That's why it's much better to remained at least on the neutral side of the alliance and it wouldn't hurt to be acquainted with someone who is blessed by the gods though.
"Pardon me, Grand Duke Chevalier but may I ask where is the Lady Marchioness? Isn't she going to dine with us?"
Altron snapped from his thoughts when he heard Lorraine call out for him and he composed himself as he speaks.
"Please refrain from addressing me as the Grand Duke since our household is a Marquis household after all. As for my little sister, I ask one of the servants to wake her up since she got tired for attending that tea party. She will be joining us for a moment."
He saw that the woman raised an eyebrow at him and said nonchalantly; "But, it's true that the Chevaliers are a Grand Duke household and just masquerading as a Marquis household. Even the guards who stationed at the central region's gate addressed your title properly since that should be the case and others should address you by your proper title, Grand Duke."
Altron sighed because he knew that Lorraine is just stating the truth anyway but since the woman came from a commoner background and she wasn't that knowledgeable about the darker side of the noble society, that's why she said those words.
'Although she's speaking the truth but if other people keeps on addressing me as the Grand Duke and not as a Marquis then, things could get too messy since that's how the noble society works.'
He thought and as he was about to speak when the doors of the dining hall opened and all three of them looked at the last person they were waiting for and now she's finally here.
"What Lady Lorraine said is an actual fact, my dear elder brother."
Altron looked at his dear sister as she entered the dining hall with her dignified aura befitting someone of her status as a young lady from a high-ranking noble household.
"Welcome, Lady Marchioness. Please have a seat first and we'll prepare your food."
One of the maids who were on standby went forward to assist the Lady Marchioness and Felicity just nodded as she went over to her designated seat.
"Hello, my dear sister. How's your sleep?"
Altron greeted her sister with a smile and Felicity just nodded at him with a smile as well and took a sip of her tea that's prepared for her and then she placed down the cup at her side and speaks.
"I'm fine, my dear elder brother. The tea party from yesterday was quite fun and the young lady from Count Velmore household who was the Host of the tea party, she's quite a fine young lady."
Felicity paused for a moment and then she looked at the two visitors who were with them and then continued; "However, there are bunch of thorns everywhere, so I just left early with Second Elder Brother."
After she said those words, the three of them could tell that the Lady Marchioness is quite disappointed for whatever happened within that tea party that makes her leave that place earlier than expected.
'As expected from her. Felicity wouldn't leave like that unless someone dared to make a trouble for her but instead of confronting whoever that person was, she just ignored its existence and make some excuse to leave early to avoid any trouble.'
He thought as he took a sip from his tea that serves into their side and then he looked at the other two visitors who didn't mind about Felicity's silent ranting.
Altron cleared his throat to composed himself as he speaks; "Right, my dear sister. I forgot to introduce the two guests here with us. As you might know already about Lady Lorraine Fowler since she is your junior before you graduated from Lumen Academy."
He paused for a moment when Lorraine stood up from her seat and greeted his sister in a polite manner.
"Greetings, Lady Marchioness. Once again, my name is Lorraine Fowler and I just graduated from Lumen Academy this year."
After she introduced herself, she took a seat and then Altron proceeded to introduce the other person to his sister.
"And the other person's name is Francis Aiden Kashaya. Although he isn't a student nor a staff member from the academy, but he is quite acquainted with the Headmaster of Lumen Academy and the Headmaster introduced Francis to me."
After the introduction, Altron saw her sister looked intently at Francis and he knew what his sister was doing but he fainted innocent for that moment as he cleared his throat to divert her attention away from Francis.
"Is there something wrong, my dear sister?"
Altron asked her affectionally, and he saw how Felicity raised an eyebrow at him but didn't answer him for a while as she took another sip of her tea and then sat down once more as she speaks.
"Just place your own judgement about this matter, Grand Duke. Earlier, before I entered this hall, I clearly remember what Lady Lorraine told you and once again, what she said is an actual fact and nothing else."
The supposed Grand Duke, Altron, just sighed because he could tell from where this conversation would go on and he just let her sister talk for now.
"However,"
The three of them looked at the Lady Marchioness when she paused her sentence for that moment as she took some knife and cut some meat on her plate before she continued;
"Lady Lorraine should remember this; There are times that when a person's authority and power have too much on their arsenal, the best option would be to remain how things should be and never stepped into that line."
