Chapter 53 Part 2 - Visiting
Chapter 53 Part 2: Visiting
Exiting together from Wan Feng Hall, Ji Shuran brought Jiang Bingji and the unreconciled Jiang You Yao to leave. Jiang Li was ready to walk towards Fang Fei Garden but met with Jiang Yu’e’s stare. She coldly spoke: “Second sister is really capable. Just a few words were able to make grandmother confused and no longer mention anything.”
Without reducing her smile, Jiang Li replied: “Many thanks for fourth sister’s praise.” Her speech was incomparably sincere, her smile was also very friendly, as if she didn’t hear the mockery in Jiang Yu’e’s words. Adversely, it made Jiang Yu’e very angry.
Seeing that Jiang Yu’e was choked and unable to speak, only then Jiang Li took Bai Xue to leave. Behind her, Jiang Yu Yan timidly pulled Jiang Yu’e’s sleeve. In a small voice she said: “Don’t always go and make trouble for second sister.”
“Go away!” Jiang Yu’e swung her sleeve in anger, freeing herself from Jiang Yu Yan’s hand. A trace of disdain flashed in her eyes: “How could I have such a chicken-hearted person as a sister, really stupid and cowardly!” She then left feeling extremely vexed.
Jiang Yu Yan lowered her head, standing silently, it was unknown what she was thinking.

The two people returned to Fang Fei Garden. Tong’er didn’t see a single mark on their body and put down her worries. In the yard, she scolded Jiang You Yao and the others for having a broken mouth to her heart’s content. Her bottom just touched the chair and she asked: “Miss, why did Old Madam suddenly mention the Ye family’s young master? Does she want to reconcile with the Ye family?”
Tong’er didn’t immediately follow Jiang Li from when she was born. Even before Jiang Li went to the temple, Tong’er couldn’t be considered as a second-class servant girl. Therefore, Tong’er didn’t know much regarding the Ye family’s matter. Including the reason why the Ye family and the Jiang family’s relationship was cold, why Jiang Li did not keep in contact with the Ye family, Tong’er wasn’t aware of all these.
“I also don’t know.” Jiang Li shook her head, “but I feel that old madam probably just opened her mouth to mention without thinking the matter through. If she really intended to, she would have asked someone to make some inquiries. But at the end, Old Madam clearly didn’t have this meaning.”
Tong’er pondered for a while and exclaimed: “It would be good if Old Madam really wanted to repair the relationship with Ye family. In any case, Miss would also have the shelter of the outside family. Then that Madam Ji would also be more likely to restrain herself.”
Ji Shuran’s position in the main branch was as steady as Mount Tai. Besides giving birth to a pair of son and daughter, there was also the support of the Ji family behind. No need to mention Ji Shuran’s father, Ji Yan Lin, just her elder sister born from the same mother was the current imperial concubine Li who was doted on by Hong Xiao Emperor.
Moreover, Jiang Li only had this one already-passed birth mother and since earlier she didn’t keep in touch with her outside family. In the Jiang family, apart from leaning on her own strength to block the knives and swords, there was no other source to draw support from. This only meant that she would be extremely exhausted.
The difference between having or not having support lay here.
“It would be good if back then inquiry was made on where the Ye family’s young master is residing.” Tong’er was not reconciled, “perhaps through Ye cousin young master, a good relation could be built with those in Xiangyang.”
“No matter.” Jiang Li said: “there is an opportunity now.”
Bai Xue asked in a low voice: “Didn’t miss not ask the current situation of Ye cousin young master?”
“I don’t have to inquire,” Jiang Li smiled and shook her head, “he himself will come to the door.”
Tong’er and Bai Xue looked at each other in dismay, apparently they were not really convinced with what Jiang Li said. However, nobody expected, on the second day, Jiang Li’s words came true.
Xiangyang’s Ye family, that cousin young master, Jiang Li’s nominal eldest cousin, Ye Shijie, took the initiative to come to the door.
